gilbix Posted January 1, 2022 Report Posted January 1, 2022 in the Flirc GUI file/save configuration: the saved File has no suffix file/load configuration: the Filesuffix has to be .fcfg running flirc_util on Ubuntu terminal results in: "flirc_util: error while loading shared libraries: libreadline.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" no man page is installed no information about filestructure is available at the moment, my impression of Flirc usb is very very poor Quote
jason Posted January 1, 2022 Report Posted January 1, 2022 (edited) https://flirc.gitbooks.io/flirc-instructions/content/title-page.html Its posted on the product page. Did you install with the setup script? Because it doesn’t look like it. Dependencies are auto installed. curl apt.flirc.tv/install.sh | sudo bash All the dependencies are listed on the installation instructions at the bottom: https://flirc.tv/ubuntu-software-installation-guide Needed Dependencies: libhidapi-hidraw0 libqt5core5a libqt5network5 libqt5xml5 libqt5xmlpatterns5 libhid qt5-qtbase qt5-qtsvg hidapi cp the 99-flirc.rules rules to /etc/udev/rules.d/ optionally copy flirc_util and flirc to /usr/local/bin/ Seriously, what’s with all the hate today? If you have nothing kind to say, please don’t say it. We’ve all had a shit year, me included. Try to be constructive. We are releasing a universal remote soon. It’s taken a long time. And I’m exhausted. The website will get updated. Docs will get updated. And flirc will see an update since it runs the same software. Until then, we have a really small team and life is hard. Happy and healthy New Years to all. Edited January 1, 2022 by jason Update Quote

Cam01 Posted July 11, 2022 Report Posted July 11, 2022 @jason Just letting you know this continues to be an issue. I followed all those instructions and am still getting this libreadline linking error. Issue being I believe your auto-install depends on libreadline 6, but that isn't available in latest Debian version. Only libreadline 8 is available. Quote
malcom2073 Posted October 23, 2022 Report Posted October 23, 2022 This is still an issue, any word on an update for the startup script install? x86_64 Debian 11 does not have readline 6 available... Quote
malcom2073 Posted October 24, 2022 Report Posted October 24, 2022 Disregard, I used a VM and an old version of debian to which worked sufficiently to configure the device. Quote
