Geoff Posted August 30, 2018 Report Posted August 30, 2018 Have just had to reinstall Ubuntu 16.04 on my NUC and now my Flirc has problems with controlling Kodi. The major one is I now have no control using Play and Pause. The other seems to be in regards to speed of the actions. They are way to fast and skip over say going from Videos to Movies they go to TV shows.Have redone the Play and Pause buttons on the Flirc software. Have tried adjusting the speed in the advanced tag but this seems to have little effect. Have reinstalled the Flirc software. Reinstalled and purged the Flirc software.Tried an upgrade of Kodi from 16 to 17 but no difference. Fiddled with the settings on my Harmony 650. I have the earlier version of Flirc, could there be a problem with the latest firmware? Geoff Quote
yawor Posted August 30, 2018 Report Posted August 30, 2018 You need to play around the Ubuntu settings. System sees Flirc as a keyboard so you need to adjust the keyboard settings. I can't help you with Ubuntu specific settings as I don't have any machine with it. Quote
Geoff Posted August 31, 2018 Author Report Posted August 31, 2018 Had a play with the keyboard settings but no difference. Deleted the NUC and Flirc from Harmony. The speed issue has gone and all controls apart from Play and Pause now work. As these are important I will keep trying to fix the issue. When I get a chance I will set it up on my PC with Kodi and see if there is a problem. Quote
Geoff Posted September 2, 2018 Author Report Posted September 2, 2018 My laptop running windows 10 seems to be having a problem with Kodi. When flirc is connected it crashes, disconnected everything is fine. Still no luck with trying to get play/pause to work on Ubuntu. Quote
jason Posted September 3, 2018 Report Posted September 3, 2018 There is no reason it would crash. Kodi crashes? Or the Operating system? Try the play / pause from the media key controller: http://cl.flirc.io/73d2eeb9f8d0 Quote
Geoff Posted October 6, 2018 Author Report Posted October 6, 2018 Been away for a month. Still no luck with play/pause in kodi. Tried setting up Kodi as a device in My Harmony but no difference. Tried using Media Keyboard but no difference. Gave up on my Windows machine. Don't know what else to try. Quote
Geoff Posted October 13, 2018 Author Report Posted October 13, 2018 Installed Kore on my Samsung tablet. Now able to control Play/pause but not the best solution as Flirc would now seem pointless. Quote
jason Posted October 13, 2018 Report Posted October 13, 2018 can you hook up a keyboard, figure out which keys are the play/pause buttons? Quote
Geoff Posted October 14, 2018 Author Report Posted October 14, 2018 Hooked up an IR keyboard but could not find any keys that worked with play/pause. The media keys worked for some such as stop but play/pause did not work. Quote
Geoff Posted October 17, 2018 Author Report Posted October 17, 2018 Solved: had to be something very obvious that I was missing. Keyboard>shortcuts>Sound and Media>Play(or play/pause) needed to be disabled. It wasn't. Thanks for your help, hope this helps someone else. It helped when I changed to the Gnome shell which is easier than Unity Quote
