  1. I'm not sure if this pertains to you or not, but I noticed the battery springs are close to the PCB. The battery contacts to the springs aren't made properly sometimes. The springs ends up touching the plastic wrappers of the battery instead of the negative contact. Also, have you changed the batteries away from the pack-in ones that came with the remote? Mine died in a day so I replaced them with some Amazon batteries. It seems to be fine as long as I don't jostle the remote too hard.
  2. Thanks for the suggestion! I've already tried running both versions in SUDO, but the public website version won't recognize the USB remote. I've tried various cords, USB ports (both type A and C). The app launches it's "First run" wizard, asking to name the remote, but it doesn't detect it. The batteries are fresh. Thank you for replying!
  3. Hello again! I have the JSON file with the power IR code and other IR functions from my remote for comparison with other Onkyo IR codes in the Skip database. The "power on" IR code is: 0000,006D,0021,0000,005C,0017,002E,0017,0017,0017,0017,0017,002E,0017,0017,0017,002E,0017,002E,0017,0017,0017,0017,0017,002E,0017,002E,0017,0017,0017,002E,0017,002E,0017,0017,0017,002E,0017,002E,0017,0017,0017,002E,0017,0017,0017,0017,0017,002E,0017,002E,0017,0017,0017,0017,0017,002E,0017,0017,0017,002E,0017,002E,0017,0017,0017,0017,0017,01CD Any help would be appreciated. Thank you! Skip 1s Onkyo HT-R395 remote.json
  4. Having the same issue on Arch Linux. The AppImage inside the Alpha seems to be meant for AMD processors. I'm not sure if the "x64" in the TAR.GZ filename means all 64-bit CPU types, like Intel and AMD, or if the Skip App is programmed with AMD CPUs only.
  5. Hello! I am trying to install and use the Linux version of this new Alpha on Arch Linux. It comes in a TAR.GZ file labelled "x64", however when I extract the AppImage file, it's for an AMD64. I currently have an Intel I7 core, not AMD. When I run this version, I get nothing but a white screen. The previous Linux version downloaded from the Downloads page of the Skip 1s product website works on this machine, but it does not recognize the remote. The website says it is version 0.9.953 BETA. That said, when I attempt to run either of them with the terminal, I get error messages about LibGio. Please see the attached terminal output. Got any ideas about this? Skip app terminal output.txt
  6. Hello Uzi2! Yes! I've tried multiple types of the power button. The different brands that came with the app have different buttons. Power on, power off, power toggle. None of those button IR codes appear to work with my receiver. I did just try to push one of the input buttons, and that worked! The Onkyo comes on. But it still doesn't completely solve my issue. I want to turn off the Onkyo when turning stuff off for the night. I'll rustle up the JSON codes that I recorded directly from my remote and see about sending them along. That said, I do like the new beta IR learning mode! Can wait to see more functionality for it, like loading existing saved remote designs/layouts to edit, seeing the renamed Custom or "Input" button names in the list properly (still shows up as "Custom" and "Input" in lists. I got 9 different "Inputs" XD), and the ability to re-record already captured buttons. :) Great job so far, @jason!
  7. Hello! Just got my 1s, and I'm trying to reduce remotes. I have an Onkyo HT-R395, which uses the RC-928R remote. I've managed to set up activities to include powering off and on the receiver. However, the power function doesn't work. I've tried all the existing Onkyo brand remote codes that came with the Skip app, checked the complete brands guide, and even managed to use the new learning version of the app to record the entire remote's IR functions. Everything but the power works. I can change volumes, inputs, use the other functions. But just not power. I've validated the IR Proton code from my remote via the JSON config files from my saved remote and it is fairly different to the existing IR codesin the DB. Anyone else have issues with powering on and off their Onkyo receiver with this remote? That's the last button before I can retire the remote. XD;
