Can you guys list your hardware, and all peripherals. I'm going to try and clone your setup.

    Hello Jason

Sorry I have not been here lately, my health has not been too good.

The v1 is still working perfectly.

As for my hardware, it is as listed below:

    ASUS H110I-Plus Motherboard (BIOS 3016)
    Intel Core i7 6700
    8GB Ram
    Samsung EVO 256GB SSD
Windows 10 Home x64 (up to date as of today)

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks in advance

    Kevin

  2. Hello Jason

I have been using the v1 now since Thursday and everything has been working fine.

The computer is Sleeping and Waking every time I request it.

The only thing I had to do when I started using the v1 was to change the Device Settings in the Harmony Software for the Flirc Player as the Keys were being repeated.

Since I changed the Key Repeat Setting in the Harmony Software from 3 to 0 everything has been working fine.

Let me know if you need any more information.

    Thanks

    Kevin

  3. okay, keep me posted. I'll try and replicate what I do electrically with that one, it works a bit differently, but essentially, this is the same thing as unplugging and plugging it in. But you said that didn't work and it through me off.

Work may be a bit slow over here though, Our Lily was just born Tuesday, so a bit tired. = )

    Hello Jason

I will update you on Monday.

As a quick test though I unplugged the v1 whilst the computer was Sleeping and that did not Wake the computer either.

Also, congratulations on your new arrival :)

    Kevin

  4. Hello Jason

I just received the v1 Flirc to test in the last half hour.

I have only done minimal testing at the moment, however.

I unplugged the v2 and plugged in the v1 and configured the Next, Previous and Power keys under Media Keys which are the same ones I setup on the v2.

After doing this I have been able to Sleep and Wake the PC each time I have tried so far.

I will continue to test things over the next few days and will update this thread on Monday.

    Thanks

    Kevin

  5. Hello Jason

I just ran the Flirc Util command again and I got something new, I have enclosed the results below:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Flirc>flirc_util.exe device_log
    <1>malloc_addblock(49): Heap Block: 0x20001FAC - 0x20002FFF (4k)
    <3>init_modules(419): Module Load Error: &module = 0x0000EA80
    <3>log_output_init(42): no log hw found
    <3>init_modules(419): Module Load Error: &module = 0x0000EB10
    <3>ir_finished(55): too many edges
    <3>ir_finished(55): too many edge

The last two lines have never occured before.

    Thanks

    Kevin

  6. Ugh, it's gotta be windows. If I can't even tell the computer that the device disappeared, nothing is going to work. Something is stopping all recognition from my device in windows. Why your logitech has anything to do with it, it's beyond me. Do you have any logitech software installed?

    Hello Jason

There is no additional software installed for the Logitech Keyboard, I just plug in the Adapter and it just works.

    Thanks

    Kevin

  7. You aren't waisting my time at all. Lot of flircs get sold, this is going to be a big issue.

There is one more thing I can try. Which is to emulate a disconnect. After your computer is sleeping, could you unplug flirc and plug it back in and see if the machine wakes up?

I don't particularly like this, as it's not following the standard.

I think it's hardware related. Are both computers identical in hardware? A lot of folks point back to the intel gpu on the threads.

How about the control panel option I pointed to previously?

    Hello Jason

If I unplug the Flirc from the HTPC when it is Sleeping it does not Wake, however, on my Desktop if I unplug the Flirc while it is Sleeping it does Wake.

These two computers are not the same hardware.

The Desktop PC is based on a Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3P, Intel Q9650 Processor, AMD graphics card and is running Windows 10 Pro

My HTPC is based on the ASUS H110I-Plus, Intel Core i7 6700 and using the on board Graphics (Intel 530).

    Thanks

    Kevin

  8. You know what, it looks like a fairly big problem with windows 10. Look at this: https://www.windows10forums.com/threads/cannot-wake-up-windows-10-from-sleep-with-external-mouse-and-keyboard.9674/

Go to the bottom and look at similar threads. There are dozens.

There is an interesting post here: http://cl.flirc.io/jGvO

On all the hubs, you can uncheck: "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

Also, a lot of people are pointing towards video drivers. What's in your system?

    Hello Jason

Now I feel guilty for wasting your time :)

Very interesting though that this seems so wide spread.

I just wonder why it seems to work fine on my Desktop PC with Windows 10 Pro and not on Windows 10 Home.

Also, I am able to Wake the HTPC with the Logitech Keyboard so it does not seem to be an issue where everything is affected which makes troubleshooting the issue so much more difficult.

Hardware wise my HTPC has an Intel Core i7 6700 and I am using the internal Graphics (Intel 530).

All Drivers are up to date as of today.

I just checked the price to upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Pro and Microsoft is wanting £119 for the upgrade, this is via the Activation Tab in Windows 10 Home.

Unfortunately that is too much at the moment but I will upgrade as soon as I can as I hate the Home Editions.

    Thanks

    Kevin

  9. And Sleep vs Suspend? Did one work over the other?

    I've got one other idea.

    Hello Jason

I thought Sleep and Suspend were the same?

I have tried from Sleep and from Hibernate.

I am unable to Wake from either.

Each time I need to use the Logitech Keyboard to Wake the PC.

I unplugged the Flirc from my HTPC (Windows 10 Home x64) and plugged it into my Desktop PC (Windows 10 Pro x64) and it works every time, Sleeping and Waking.

Could there be an issue with using the Flirc with Windows 10 Home since it works with Windows 10 Pro and also with the Ubuntu Live USB?

    Thanks in advance

    Kevin

  10. Hello Jason

I had some spare time and since there is very little installed on my HTPC I decided to perform a Reset of Windows 10.

Unfortunately, after the Reset the Flirc was still unable to Wake the computer (putting it to Sleep works every time), however, the Ubunto Live USB continues to work perfectly, able to Sleep and Wake the PC every time.

I tested the Flirc before I installed anything extra such as Plex etc. to make sure I had a bare Windows 10 installation.

Just a little more information, hopefully it will help in some way.

Also, I tried the 4.0.16 FW and still have the issue.

    Thanks in advance

    Kevin

  11. Hello Jason

    Something new this morning.

I used the Keyboard to Wake my computer (Flirc would not Wake it) and after it was on the Remote would not work.

After checking in Device Manager the items related to the Flirc under 'Human Interface Devices' all had the error stating that no Drivers were loaded for the Device.

This is the first time this error has occurred.

I unplugged the Flirc, Deleted all the associated Devices in Device Manager, Rebooted and plugged in the Flirc after which the Flirc worked again, no Wake but the Device was recognised, the Drivers loaded and the Remote worked again.

    I am still using 4.0.15.

    Thanks in advance

    Kevin

  12. @Kevin Cowans as we are only 1 hour apart timezone wise, in case you have some problems running ubuntu let me know using private message here on the forum. I'll try to help you then.

As for using keyboard over BT, you'll unfortunately find that you can only use it when the OS is fully booted. You also need to pair the keyboard in the OS. So for booting Linux from USB you need to use Unifying (or some other keyboard).

    Hello Yawor

    Thanks for the offer.

I have managed to create the Bootable USB for Ubunto and have been able to Boot the HTPC with it successfully.

I have tested the Flirc and I am able to successfully put the HTPC to Sleep and also Wake it using my Harmony One Remote every time I have tried.

Now, the question is, what does this prove?

It would seem that the hardware, Flirc, USB Ports, BIOS etc. are all good so what would this point to, an issue with Windows 10 or?

    Thanks in advance

    Kevin

  13. I'd honestly run Linux. That'll tell you for certain if its bios or driver caused.

    I'm sorry as well.

    Hello Jason

    Right, Linux it is.

I have found the download for the ubunto desktop iso and will be able to create a Bootable USB without issue, however, how do I go about using the Flirc with it?

Sorry, but in my 35 years of using computers I have never used linux :(

    Thanks in advance

    Kevin

  14. really makes no logical sense. 14 and 15 are identical. In 15 I'm also checking for S2 and S3 on top of S1. 14 only checks for S1. Newly round apis in the chip.

Im with Yawor. Download ubuntu on a USB stick. Boot it. See if the issue persists.

    Hello Jason

I agree, it makes no sense.

Also, I am using Windows 10 Home on the HTPC when I prefer the Pro Editions as there are no restrictions or missing features.

I have been doing some more testing and for some unknown reason I am now able to Wake the computer with 4.0.15.

And now it has stopped working again.

I really do not understand this.

Would you recommend doing a Windows Reset first or trying the Ubunto on a USB Stick?

Either way, I am going to wait until I receive the Bluetooth Adapter so that I can use my keyboard again.

    Really sorry about all this.

    Kevin

  15. Kevin, you said earlier: Sorry about this but since upgrading from 4.0.14 to 4.0.15 I am no longer able to Wake the computer.

im so confused.  Now you said 12 was is the only one that works.

    Hello Jason

Sorry, I got my versions wrong, I was able to Wake the computer for a while using 4.0.14 but when I upgraded to 4.0.15 I had issues again as in it would not Wake the computer at all.

When I was using 4.0.12 things would work for a while and then just stop working, much the same as with 4.0.14.

This whole thing is getting me confused.

One other thing I tried was I unplugged the Flirc and removed all instances of it from Device Manager, Rebooted and plugged the Flirc in again.

After doing this I was able to Wake the computer a few times before it failed again.

I just do not know what else to check as I have gone over everything I can think of.

I think I have decided that once I receive the ASUS BT400 this week I am going to perform a Factory Reset of Windows 10 and see if things improve.

Sorry for causing any problems for you.

    Thanks in advance

    Kevin
