lu10010 Posted May 27 Report Posted May 27 Hi, after freeze in firmware update, die Flirc USB dongle seems bricked. Installed flirc setup in guest windows 10 in an qemu/kvm guest system on host Linux system (Debian 12). Tried to configure the dongle. Seemed fine, minimal setup, signed the keys etc. Tried the dongle in host Linux system. Didn't work. Back to guest Windows on host Linux. Accepted the suggestion for a firmware upgrade. The upgrade stuck. Canceled after 40 minutes. After that, the dongle was no longer recognized under Windows. In Linux lsusb shows the dongle. Then installed flirc in host Linux. The program starts without a dongle. When the dongle is inserted, the program crashes. Error message: lib/libflirc/bootloader/bl_3.3.c fl_sku(115): not a valid image So, how to get it work. Greetings from Hamburg/Germany Lutz Quote
lu10010 Posted May 29 Author Report Posted May 29 Forget it. I sent the dongle back to Amazon. Now build one myself. https://www.instructables.com/DIY-USB-IR-receiver/ Quote
jason Posted May 31 Report Posted May 31 You can't brick it. Message is erroneous. You probably just needed to re-run the command as sudo. Quote
