  1. Microsoft remotes toggle between two frequencies so generally ever other button press is recognised. You can record both by recording repeating recording each key but I think you're better switching to panasonic. For more info on Microsoft remote issues : Let us know how it goes :)
  2. Is the Harmony device currently a Microsoft profile? (Xbox, MCE, WMC etc)
  3. Would it be because print screen on Mac would be shift+apple key+3? Or maybe it isn't as Flirc is platform independent. Not sure.
  4. and thanks to you for a write-up to help other users. Happy Flirc-ing
  5. Cool - let us know how it goes (if it still doesn't work definately let us know) Jason always appreciates people liking the hard work he put into flirc (I'll make sure he gets the thanks) Chris!
  6. Hi Trikke, How very odd. I have the Harmony 300 so I am going to assume there are similarities. I found the TV's we suggested filled up play/pause/rewind etc. The first thing we need to establish is that the remote is working and is sending I/R when those buttons are pressed. 1) I'm assuming you have your TV programmed into the Harmony as the TV device, try programming Flirc with that profile for now to check the remote sending stuff (remember to focus on the problem buttons you mentioned: play/pause/rewind/forward/guide/info) 2) My harmony flashes when I press a button that is sending signals out (the ones that don't send signals don't light up). Is this happening? We'll get you up and running in no time, thanks for your patience, Chris!
  7. Hi Compass, welcome to the forums, Whilst I don't know of anyone with experience using this remote, you don't have to program your remote as an XBox 360 for XBMC as flirc converts remote control presses to keyboard presses so XBMC would only see a keyboard no matter what remote is being used. Thought this was worth pointing out in case it makes it any easier. Also, theoretically, if your remote is sending IR then flirc should work with it Pleasant regards, Chris!
  8. I'm intrigued, apparently you can make flirc send the print screen button but it's not very use accessible: I'm sure someone more technologically app (cue Jason/Digitalb0y or someone else) can tell use what to do with: #define HID_print_scr 70
  9. Hi SIN7, welcome to the forums, Sorry it's not going smoothly, have you tried pressing the enter button twice (or more) and it only responds to the some of the presses? We recommend using a tv profile for the harmony remote: http://forum.flirc.tv/index.php?/topic/22-harmony-remotes/ as it avoid the problems of the key needed to be pressed twice: Pleasant regards, Chris!
  10. I don't think Jason has, i'll ask him to do that as it'll help debug issues. This is especially relevant as XBMC is changing/changed a keyboard shortcut between dharma and eden (or eden and frodo) - which they were even kind enough to tell us directly (thanks guys!). I also think the app is long overdue an update but this isn't through Jason's laziness - guy works ridiculously hard.
  11. Oh. Sorry, my bad. Thanks for the summary - Jason is considering making a Flirc device setting for harmony remote but doesn't want them to steal the idea (hence patent pending) - otherwise his hard work for USC Cancer research will be worth a whole lot less.
  12. Interesting findings, i'm sure Jason is reading and using these suggestions - busy guy but is 100% committed to Flirc. Regarding the Sky hd remote profile, can you not remove the "info button" when programming in the myharmony online thing, replace it with another button flirc can see? In fact as you're all settled up, I may give it a try on my Harmony 300. If I do i'll report back. I didn't have your problems programming on my Mac and using using on my openelec machine. Don't worry though as Jason's main machine is a Mac so i'm sure he can get to the bottom of it. Chris!
  13. Hmm, interesting findings. In future i'll be sure to recommend trying to program in the full keyboard if users are having trouble in the future. Thanks for posting greenep48
  14. Ok :) http://forum.flirc.tv/index.php?/topic/301-keyboard-shortcut-for-different-applications/
  15. I'll be curious with your finding - the only reason I've been so persistent with the arrow left etc is that i thought those keys did the same in each program. We'll get there soon :)
  16. Unfortunately I don't have windows media center so can't properly make any more accurate suggestions, however: - If it worked before my first suggestion, did you change anything in windows media center? - Are they're any remote/keyboard settings that need changing?
  17. Could you open the windows explorer or something that would normally respond to arrow left, arrow right and return/enter. I'm getting the feeling there is a setting in Windows media center that is causing the issue - but we should narrow it down before I make any assumptions, Chris!
  18. Hi TBird1, welcome to the forums, I seem to recall a user having good results programming their harmony remote as a sky remote so can only assume that the real deal would work just as well. Pleasant regards, Chris!
  19. It should work. If we can back track a little: How are you programming the Flirc (using the full keyboard)? Does the remote button you assigned to any of the arrows keys work in both XBMC and Windows media center? For reference: Windows media center: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ID/windows-vista/Windows-Media-Center-keyboard-shortcuts XBMC: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Keyboard
  20. Hi greenep48, Your remote may be alternating between sending different packets each press. We've observed this with Microsoft remotes. Try recording each key press e.g. 1) record left 2) press left on the remote 3) Repeat again to catch the other packet it sometimes sends. Does this make sense? Let us know how it goes Pleasant regards, Chris!
  21. Not through flirc - there maybe some kind of accessibily software that could do that function but I'm not sure. As flirc presents as a keyboard you will have to work from that level. Pleasant regards, Chris!
  22. Thanks for posting obi12 :)
  23. Useful info to have - thanks for posting :)
  24. It's conceivable that some interference has caused some error in the transfer of commands. Flirc is very sensitive so this may be the reason it isn't picking it up. May I ask why you programmed the same model of remote for the same Flirc. Is it because you want to remote controls to be able to control Flirc in the same room etc? I'm assuming you've done my next suggestion but it can't hurt to suggest: You've definitely checked (at the same time - i.e. a few minutes of checking one remote) that the remotes both behave the same (or differently in the case of the buttons you've identified as a problem). Just to confirm that it is the remote not another factor (e.g. a power adapter you recently acquired is interfering) Chris!
