  1. So having posted yesterday here that I'd updated to the .21 firmware and put brand new batteries in, my remote just died again. That circa 16.5 hours later. I took the batteries out and put them straight back in and I was able to switch off the coupe of devices I needed to. So I think I'd like a replacement too and you can have mine back to see if you can diagnose the issues. Are their any logs I can send that would help with this? And like Shiv, I've had this issue from the start, which Is when I got the remote near the end of June.
  2. So I've just updated the firmware via the windows tool (could you please provide a screenshot of how to access the admin panel as I can't see it in the main Skip App) and installed brand new batteries, so 2023-09-20 21:35 UTC. Let's hope the new firmware works.

    Skip 1s dead??

Hi, so from what I can see there's been no response from any member as listed in the staff directory for ages on any of the many topics and issues that have been raised. Is this project dead like the batteries in my remote? It takes very little to post something, even if it's an update saying other life priorities have come up and you have to take step back for a period; at least let us know. As it stands my remote is effectively useless because it never last more than a few days on batteries. I can even take the batteries out and use in other remotes sometimes so it's not simply the batteries are completely flat, they're just drained to a point lower than the remote needs. From what I can tell many people have provided crucial feedback to help work out some of the issues, and at this point it just feels like you're using people for free testing on a product that really isn't fit for purpose at the moment. Just be honest about where the product is and your commitment to it.
  4. I too am suffering horrendous battery life. I put brand new batteries in 5 days ago and now drained. My remote is on the latest firmware as updated by the app. My usage is very light so I would expect them to last years, not hours, like every remote I've ever owned. Please can @jason or @Nathan or someone else on staff please respond to the battery issue. Is it a fatal hardware design flaw that can't be fixed, or is it software based and could be fixed, in which case when? As others have said in order to continue using it I'll have to buy a charger and batteries at additional cost, which I'd like to avoid if this issue can be resolved by an update.
  5. I actually got the Sony working by finding a relevant STRDN entry when using the MISC brand, just had to manually map some buttons which was easy enough. Also, the TV seems to be working fine now, so all good
  6. Hi, I had the same problem with my Sony STR-DN1080. Depending what model you have, I got mine working with adding a device and using the MISC group at the end, then as I typed STR the option came up for STRDN receivers, and now I have access to a ton, if not all, the buttons. Just remember to use the scroll to actually see all the models, as it's not at all clear you can do this. Maybe there's an entry you've not seen before that will make it work for you.
  7. Hi, I've tried the generic options that are shown in the app for my Sony Receiver but nothing worked. For my TV, Code Group 1 did work for power on/off, but perhaps was slightly different to my TV remote which when turned off shows a red LED (to show in standby mode) which doesn't happen using the Skip 1s. Also no other buttons seemed to work, like settings/menu/up/down etc. I do have the FLIRC usb dongle so here are the codes generated in the device log when I press the various buttons I need, if this helps at all. Note the codes are different each time I press the button, but that may be normal. If I can provide anything else let me know. Thanks. 8. Just some feedback regarding issues which caught me out and prevent the remote from being usable for me: 1. Unclear how to access all the buttons in the button panel; turns out you have to use a device with a scroll, which is really unclear/unhelpful 2. When you make a selection in brand/model boxes they are not shown, yet may filter to reduce what is shown when you click the dropdown. This is very confusing and unclear as to what is happening 3. Pressing space bar when entering the name of the remote moves focus elsewhere; this shouldn't happen 4. The Info, stop, play/pause and mute buttons do not do anything when I selected PC device, Flirc brand and WMC as the model, despite having the Flirc USB device. Those buttons are not recognised in the Flirc 3.27.0 app using any of the controller profiles, esp. the WMC one, or when IR Debugging. I would class these buttons as being pretty critical to a media setup. 5. In the brand dropdown there are 2 entries for Sony, with different case; this list should be deduped 6. My Sony receiver is not listed, Sony STR-DN1080. I tried all the STR Series Main Zone models but nothing worked. All I need is power on/off and input selection 7. My Philips 55POS9002 TV was also not found. I tried the various Code Groups and Code Group 1 did work for power on/off, but perhaps was slightly different to my TV remote which when turned off shows a red LED (to show in standby mode) which doesn't happen using the Skip 1s. Also no other buttons seemed to work, like settings/menu 8. bundled UCB-C to USB-C cable - can't make use of this as I don't have USB-C on my device. I think USB-C is still pretty uncommon and so a standard USB-A would of been better at one end, or also include an adapter. It's a real shame because the physical remote is great, but is let down by it's own software and that of the Flirc USB device, which means I still need to use my other remotes for 1 or 2 actions, and so isn't really an improvement over my existing setup. If it worked to turn my TV on/off correctly (all I need) and my receiver on/off plus input selection, I'd would be an ideal solution. Perhaps if/when the ability to learn the codes from my existing remotes comes these issues could be overcome
