  1. In a related note, It would be great (and I'm sure this would be a lot of dev work so it's okay if you hate me for suggesting =P ) if you could set the remote to perform some action when you switched from one activity to another. For example, I want activity A to turn on the TV to HDMI 1 and then the controls to be for that streaming device. But, when I switch to activity B, it does nothing, because you have to turn off and on the activity for the power macro to work. Instead, when I switch from a to b (when the power is already on with a) I should be able to program a separate macro to say, only switch the TV's input, not turn it on or off. I believe Logitech's Harmony had a similar feature so I doubt that it's impossible. But, it also sounds like the sorta thing that would be easy to implement at first but actually turn out to be a huge pain.
  2. Very disappointed to still not see a response from any of the Admins in here or @jason himself, considering this seems to be a wider issue. Granted, I'm sure they have other things to be working on, but i feel like people's brand new remotes randomly bricking themselves would kind of take presendence.
  3. Okay I fixed it somehow... I downgraded to firmware v4.12.6 here: And then uninstalled and reinstalled the skip app, and updated the firmware using that back to what it wanted me to. Now, it works?! I'm very confused but glad so see it working.
  4. I am having the same issue going on here, everything was working fine, until earlier today. Now, the remote is completely dead when unplugged. No lights, no IR Signals, nothing. Works just fine using the app, lights and the Testing in the app work just fine. My remote model is SKIP.1S.RELEASE.A06 and firmware version 4.12.19-0-g34a3e83. The skip app is CI build 6008 commit 81b6c75. I've tried resetting the remote, I've tried new batteries, nothing has worked.
  5. To be clear, this issue that I had was through a Windows VM on my Linux machine, but it was a similar issue, which suggests a permission issue might exist. I was able to fix the permission issue, just other issues came up after that when I was working through the VM. I was also unable to run the Windows program through WINE, though I haven't yet taken a crack at the actual Linux version.
  6. I did chown [my user] /dev/bus/usb/vendorid/productid/. I found the vendor and product ids with lsusb. As I said, I never actually got it working though, so...
  7. I honestly don't remember but it was what showed under lsusb. I applied it too just one device by manufacturer ID though, not all USB devices.
  8. I ran into this same issue when trying to get the app working in a VM... I was able to fix it by just changing the ownership of the /dev USB device to my user, but that isn't a good long term solution. Is your user in the plugdev group @clayton? On the appimage front, personally i have found appimages to be very finicky and have had better luck with flatpaks. That doesn't mean flatpaks are foolproof either though, i agree that releasing the source code is best long term.
  9. Hi, I just bought the FLIRC USB Fire TV Edition, but it does not seem to work for my Fire TV Stick 4K Max. I've tried resetting to factory defaults, turning off ADB Debugging but nothing works. The Flirc USB shows up in the Flirc app and registers to my Skip 1S remote just fine but will not control the Fire TV? Any suggestions? (To be clear I have the Fire TV Edition in-line style one, not the standard version that would need and OTG adapter.)
  10. Mine just arrived yesterday! Now just waiting for my Flirc Fire TV edition to arrive from Amazon. Also, I know this isn't necessarily the proper place to ask, but are there any updates to Linux support? It seems like there might be.
  11. The latest update as far as I know is still "Linux support is planned" not sure why the pink is on the page if it's not actually publicly available. Seems like a mistake to me but I don't know. Though the link text does give some indication that it will be an appimage when it is released. Interesting.
  12. It's okay, I'm sure anyone who's seen this thread understands that it's not in your hands (literally or figuratively).
  13. How long do you expect it will take for you to get them?
  14. Thank you very much for this additional information and insight into what has happened causing the delays. I'm honestly fine with delays what had been scaring me recently was the lack of communication. Now that I found this I am much more confident in this project.
