Upgrade your firmware, file->advanced, force firmware upgrade.
Or,
disable builtin profiles in advanced settings.

Hi Jason, just to let you know I haven't forgotten about this. My son decided he wanted to be born 6 hours after my last message, and on top of dealing with a newborn I've also been running an Indiegogo campaign so things have been a bit hectic.
I'll get the readings as soon as get 10mins to myself ;)
oh congratulations. Would love to see some pics.
I know what you're going through, ours is 20 months now. Such a blast, it goes by quickly.
No worries, I appreciate all the help and am extremely grateful. Congratulations to you guys.
Where is your campaign? I'll try to give it some publicity.

Hi,
I bought a flirc recently and I love it, however in the last few days its giving more consistent problems.
I always have the flirc plugged into the same USB port. My flirc firmware is 3.0 and using Windows 7 Ultimate
1. when the pc just boots up I expect the flirc to work right away, and from the last used configuration.
However it won't respond until I manually launch the flirc software. Sometimes I even have to manually load my saved config to have it working.
I really wants to use my remote after pc booted up, any manual intervention after boot up is extremely inconvenient. How can I solve this problem?
2. The Erase function is very erratic and after I erased a key I still got prompted (key already in use) when I attempt to assign that key a new function. I tried erase the key many times still the same problem. I think I succeed once many days ago but no joy after that occasion.
Any advice is appreciated,
Send me an email, I'll get it replaced. There is a workaround in my bootloader. Issue number 1. will be remedied by an update. I can eventually do in field upgrades of the bootloaders, but it's a ton of work, I don't have the time yet.
2. I've only ever been able to reproduce once. Send me your configuration when it says the key says already erased but actually didn't erase. I think I can fix this, just need the config.

let me know.

Hi.i just got the flirc today and i'm sorry to say there a lot of work to be done on XBMC.there is no "context menu" button key on xbmc controller and the "full screen mode" button is not doing what itsupposed to do. dose are the most important keys in XBMC .the flirc programer need to know a little bit about XBMC before he release it to the public.please go and learn. you can download one of many free XBMC control app's to your smartphone to understand what dose feature do.please replay.ThanksRefael.
Yes, just like bek said, it's just a keyboard. Head to controllers->keyboard, and just map the key manually.
I'll get around to updating it, but I have a ton on my plate right now.
I've quietly released a second product and am going to release a third soon that's going to be pretty awesome. When these are released, in mid december, I'm going to work on the GUI.

maybe there is something else that's interfering, TV, lights, window? You're on fw 3.1?
-
probably the remote control batteries dying?
-
No problem, my pleasure.

I haven't quite built in support for prompting the user yet. I'm in the middle of fixing up my build scripts so I can finally get the linux release version caught up. Just released the 64 bit, now scratching my head over the 32 bit version...

It's stuck in the bootloader, just fire up the GUI, you'll see the latest firmware get upgraded, and it should start working again. Let me know.

Don't worry, I'll get it fixed. Let me see if I can get this remote on my harmony to reproduce it, if not, I'll order another one. In the mean time, do you want to downgrade? Just send me an email, I don't have any good tool to do it, but I'll walk you through it.
-
you're right. You just need to plug in your previously paired flirc into your 'insert machine here' and it will just work. You don't need any software for anything to work.
Can you paste the output of:
flirc_util
-
Don't think that will help. Can you send me an email and we'll figure out how to downgrade the device? I'm sorry for the delay. I'm traveling with the fam. I'll get this sorted out tonight. Thanks for the patience.
-
The new firmware didn't help. Started doing in the afternoon today as well. Missed the start of the Formula 1 race because of it as well. I think I have a defective unit. What kind of warranty is one these things?
Loose, I have something formal in the terms of service on the site, but it really doesn't matter. Just shoot me an email and I'll get you a new one. support at flirc.tv
-
yeah, this is either going to be backspace or delete. I think try shift+delete in the GUI
-
Make sure you are in v1.2.9 of the hui and go to advanced and click sequence modifiers. Give that's shot and let me know.
-
Jason, any update on my issue?
okay, just released an update. Make sure advanced is fired up, and the box is ticked. Try toggling it if it is.

I've developed the same problem a couple of days ago. It's been working fine for the several months I've had it and I have not changed a thing, not even a lightbulb. I'm using elec on an Asus Chromebox with a Harmony Smartcontol FWIW. It has ruined the wife acceptance factor completely, and is really anoying me.
you said the wife word, you have my attention.
If you aren't already on it, upgrade to 3.1, format the device, and re-record keys. It's such a huge leap forward in terms of architecture and fundamental design.
-
Today i've got the same problem. The only thing i've changed was that i put my flirc in front of my TV. Put it back behind the TV fixed the Problem.
have you tried 3.1 of the firmware? It's pretty awesome and hope it fixes this.
-
cool, thanks let me look into this.
Very Sincerely,
Jason
-
can you post your configuration?
-
3.1 works. The wake key isn't going to highlight the keyboard. Go to advanced settings and enable the suspend detect.
-
Got your email too, I'll respond here for the benefit of others.
Okay, so you can with the commandline utility. You can reload the configuration and do:
flirc_util settings
Unfortunately though, I map the buttons as an un-compressible format. You'll at the least be able to see what buttons have been recorded. We can always work out downgrading too, but it's a manual process. Let know.
Sincerely,
Jason

This is bugging the hell out of me.
What version of firmware is everyone running.
I'm going to fix this.
What country are you in?
What remote control are you using?
What is the remedy? Unplug, wait, etc.
