  1. Hello Yawor

    Thanks for the reply.

I have no additional software installed in order to use the K830, it is just Plug and Play.

The Option software is, forgive the pun, optional.

Also, the version of the K830 that I have is the version that also works by Bluetooth, however, I have no Bluetooth Adapter to test with at the moment.

    Thanks in advance

    Kevin

Try putting the flirc on a separate hub as the unifying receiver. For example, if they are both in the back, move one to the front.

Very strange. I have a unifying receiver as well as a bluetooth dongle, and tried for several hours to reproduce this without seeing anything.

I tried in linux and windows 10, I also don't have any unifying software installed.

  2. Hello Jason

    Thanks for all your work.

As for the refund, not necessary but thanks for the offer.

The key you have used in the above post is the same one I have mapped.

The Flirc is setup in Device Manager to Allow it to Wake the computer.

The way I have things setup is that I have a Logitech Harmony One Remote setup to switch off the Computer when it is not in use and to do so it sends the key associated with the Wake / Suspend key in the Flirc Software, in my case the PlayBackTest command when the Activity is started or stopped.

When I change the Activity the Computer always Sleeps but will not Wake.

To Wake my Computer I can press any key on my Logitech K830 Wireless Keyboard.

How do I find out what Sleep Mode my computer is using?

I found it, I am using Sleep Mode S3.

Also, I use TeamViewer so if you wish we could setup a session if that would be helpful.

    Thanks in advance

    Kevin

How did you find out what sleep mode you were using?

  3. Hey Jason, no problem you are welcome.

mostley my pc is entering the sleep automatic, from the energiesettings.

or from the kodi software and there are two options

    Suspend: Suspends your computer.

    Hibernate: Hibernates your computer.

in the moment since v14 i get it  up from hibernate but not from suspend.

bevor with v 11 i get up from suspend but that dont works wth v14

but after a couple of hours i dont get it up with both fw`s

if it helps you can join my pc by teamviewer!

In "Device Manager" scroll down to flirc keyboard and click on it, then double click on your keyboard device, when the window opens click on "Power Management" make sure the box that says "Allow this device to wake the computer" is checked. Let me know if that was checked. I'm pulling my hair out over this.

How are you getting your machine to turn on again. Do you have to hit the power button, or can you hit a keyboard key?

  4. Hello Jason

    Thanks for the reply.

I have tried running the command as Administrator with the same results.

I usually run my HTPC in a Standard User Account (Auto Login) and I have tried running the command from there in an Elevated Command Prompt with no success.

I have also Logged on to the Administrator Account on the HTPC and tried running the command there, again in an Elevated Command Prompt with the same issue.

    I hate being defeated :(

    Thanks in advance

    Kevin

Thanks for all the quick feedback, I appreciate it. Okay, so I can't reproduce this, maybe it's because I'm doing a suspend vs deep sleep.

How are you guys entering sleep?

What I'm doing is recording the following key: http://cl.flirc.io/jA4m

I enter sleep mode using that, and then hit any recorded key to wake the machine up. I've done this for hours without it giving me any issues. But again, I supposed I need to figure out how to enter deep sleep.

I'm so very sorry for this, but I'm not going to give up. I'll ensure you guys that are helping me and being patient through this receive refunds as a thanks for my gratitude. PM me for that, but lets keep at it.

I'll see if I can whip something up to save the device log to file from the GUI.

In the mean time, try the attached.

    nemo.beta-4.0.14.bin

  6. I rolled back the FW from 4.0.12 to 4.0.11 and I still receive the error shown above.

I even tried uninstalling the software and reinstalling with the same result.

I am at a loss, hopefully Jason can shed some light on why I seem to be the only one unable to run the command successfully.

    Thanks

    Kevin

Kevin, might need to run the command prompt as an administrator. Not to worry, still very much working on it. I appreciate the help and feedback

  7. Also, running the command you gave gives the following error:

    PS C:\Program Files (x86)\Flirc> .\flirc_util.exe device_log
    [D] lib/libtransport/hid.c hid_send_packet(83): I
    Error getting version
    device disconnected, can't run command

I checked in the Flirc GUI and the Device is showing as connected.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks in advance

    Kevin

the gui needs to be closed for the commandline to work

  8. Kevin, Foxxi, can you guys tell summarize problem with each version. Also, what OS are you guys running on? .11 was actually waking for you both? Let's come up with some terminology:

present on wake: device shows up when the computer wakes up

wakes from suspend: device will wake the machine up from a suspend state.

Simple true or false for each of these would be extremely helpful, also, these are independent of each other.

    Thanks for the help.

No problem! You gave me a discount once before, I just found the new ones on Amazon and they appeared to be your official channel (is that correct?) so it was just easier to get them from there. I currently have 4 in use, with one spare I carry in my laptop bag when I travel - it's great for hooking up my laptop to hotel TVs, I just carry a very small IR remote that I had laying around with me as well and I can watch Kodi from my hotel bed at night :)

For the Shield/FTV you should bundle these with a decent right-angle usb adapter (or maybe just link folks to them). I use VCZHS brand adapters off Amazon; they allow me to put the FLIRC in a position where the IR receiver just clears the top of the Shield in the back. Looks very clean, no extension cables to deal with, and works great. For Shield or FireTV it's as perfect an IR setup as could possibly be.

Yeah, Amazon is an official channel too. You really shouldn't need the right angle adapter, have you tried it without? Mine is behind our tv that's against our wall, doesn't skip a beat.

  10. Yea, they ARE sticky. If I press another button, the new button will override previous command, but I can't get it to unstick completely, not even using the original remote. I had to restart.

Don't use the profile you are using. Add the Flirc - FireTV profile, then record over those keys. Not sure which profile you are using. I'm going to reach out to logitech shortly and get them to create a profile.

  11. I've updated to latest Flirc and firmware. I added "NVIDIA Shield Game" to my Harmony 700 and mapped it to Flirc using Shield profile. But when I go and use it on my 2017 Shield, pressing the down arrow navigates all the way down, and up all the way up. Couldn't test anything else out because of that.

Am I doing something wrong? Thanks

Do you mean that keys feel sticky? Do they eventually un stick?

  12. Thanks for the update! Working great on both my Shields. I have the 2015 and 2017 non-pro model. FLIRC in particular is a boon for the new non-Pro since there's no IR receiver; hopefully with these updates you find FLIRC becomes just as popular with those as it is now for the FireTV devices.

I have 7 FLIRCs now - 4 original from back in the day and 3 new ones from Amazon. Great update all around.

I was working at NVIDIA and close to the team that was working on the shield. I had no idea they dropped the IR support until I started getting emails from people telling me they are actually encouraging folks my way. Whoever is doing that at NVIDIA has no idea that I was working there a couple months ago along side the shield team. Crazy.

I really appreciate the feedback. Unfortunately, it's a lot easier for someone emotionally driven to send me an upset email than it is for the happy users at home to write in. So it really fuels me in the pursuit of a better product/products. Thank you.

That's a lot of flircs. Any need for any more just write in and I'll get you a discount. Really goes for anyone here. Thanks guys.

  13. This a follow up to my problem. I tried using a  Harmony 650 with the same setup and it fixed the 3 sec. delay/no auto repeat problem for the left/right keys. To setup the 550 you have to use the Logitech Harmony Remote Setup software instead of the MyHarmony website. I was wondering if there is a possible inconsistency for the Flirc between the two software configuration programs. I like the 550 because it has the sound and picture setup keys and has sequences, which was originally not available on the 650, but I see Logitech has added sequences for the 650. The only remaining problem that I have is with the Menu key. I use Playstation VUE with displays a mini menu on a long Menu key press (> 1 sec). The mini menu provides last channel, TV guide, search, and explore options. I'm assuming that the FireTV remote sends a key down and key up for the long key press. Does anyone know what is the key sequence FireTV uses for the Menu key. I tried hooking up a keyboard and tried all the keys but none of them brought up the menu. I believe that this forum said that F12 should bring up the menu but it didn't work for me. Also could I use the Flirc record_api interface to specify a key down/key up designation? If I could, I should be able to create a Logitech sequence to duplicate a long Menu key press. I also saw that long key presses are supposed to be coming soon. Any idea if this would solve my problem and how long is soon?

    strange about the software consistencies.

The long press for firetv will be addressed in about two weeks. This is a new feature they added and I just haven't had time to work on it yet.
