I have a jeff probe. I tried to update the probe to what I thought was a newer firmware version. Since there is very little documentation and community support, I used the firmware for the native black magic probe. This bricked the device but left the bootloader. While I was trying to get the probe back to it's original state, the bootloader got wiped as well. I have searched everywhere for a prebuilt copy of the firmware but it doesn't seem to exist. I found the repository github.com/flirc/blackmagic. No matter what I try, I can't get it to build. It always errors out before the firmware is built. I tried going to your support page and download page for the jeff probe bu…

In the FAQ on the Jeff Probe (BMP clone) it was stated that the schematic would eventually be released on GitHub; What is the status of this? Since it appears unlikely there will be any further updates to the Jeff probe's firmware It would be useful to have access to a schematic in keeping with the open hardware spirit of the parent project so those owners that are interested can investigate adapting a more current branch from the BMP GitHub (A paragraph or two on what modifications were made from the original BMP schematic would also go a long way).

Hi, I have managed to get my remote working with bluestacks which is an android emulator for windows. I disabled virtual keyboard in the software android settings to enable the physical keyboard. However, when navigating the only way to select a video on youtube is by left clicking on the mouse. AFAIK no other key will allow it to be selected. Navigation does work with up down left right. Since windows allows you to use mouse keys, I could use numpad 5 as a physical left mouse click. However the flirc software's full keyboard only seems to show 84 keys and not the full 104 keys on a full keyboard with numpad. Does anyone have a solution? -Jeremy

Hi, Great little debugger. Just wondering if the repo is still under development? The last stable release (v1.8.4) was almost 2 years ago, however, blackmagic is now at stable version 1.10.2 (jan 2024). Are we likely to see any update in the near future? I would hate to think I have wasted monies on this hardware :-(

EDIT: I thought I was having issues flashing the binaries to the device, but I believe I have other issues at hand. Please disregard this thread. Hey! Hoping you could help me out with an issue I'm having on an academic project. I don't think it's an issue with the Jeff Probe per se, but I'm at my wit's end. I've been able to successfully use the Jeff Probe to load the binaries of an Arduino sketch onto an Arduino Nano 33 BLE. For the project, I am designing a custom PCB that will be based on the same wifi module and subsequently the same microcontroller, the uBlox Nina B306 and the Nordic nRF52840, respectively. I believe the binaries are not being …

So compiling the firmware went ok as ling as i iised arm-none-eabi versions below 10, and removed werror from makefile. But and unfortunatly did not check before flashing, the uart vcc pin has no voltage even after enabling tpower. The schematic shows that the vcc is connected thru a 0ohm (r15) resistor to 3.3v , but r15 is unpopulated, and one side has 3.3v the other side goes to the uart vcc pin and the two sided are not connected. i at first figured the resistor fell off but the pics of jeff probe on-line also have it unpopulated...How exactly am i supposed to enable the 3.3v on the uart vcc pin? Is it working for other people? If a digital switch is involved then schem…
