interact with rasberry pi2 openelec while a video is playing

Hi everybody,

I've just bought a flirc remote usb dongle and I am going to use it my raspberry pi2 with openelec xbmc. I read here and there that once you start playing a video there's this sort of bug and you are able no more to control the raspberry through your remote control. Is that true? For instance what if I wold like to change the audio track? Am I able to move to the control bar of openelec just using the already set up direction buttons on my remote? Thanks in advance

I'm using RPi2 with OSMC and I don't have any problems at all neither in the menu nor while in playback. Maybe it's something wrong with the openelec but it would be strange. Both distributions are using Kodi, so unless openelec modified it in some strange ways I don't see why would it behave that way.
