  1. Glad you got it working. As far as long press is concerned Jason does plan to refine it (see my signature) however the remote will still need to be sending out signals when held down. Have you tried a different remote profile (normally TV profiles, opposite brand to the band of TV you have, work well) Pleasant regards, Chris!
  2. it should be possible, I seem to recall the user mentioning it elsewere on the forums. I'll have a dig around on the forums when I'm not on my phone and get back to this thread (or if someone else wants to share their probably more knowledgable experience please do) Chris!
  3. Hi Rumik, welcome to the forums, I'm not sure about windows (unfortunately I don't use it), I sounds like the shutdown button sends alt+f4 is this right? What did you program the off button on your remote to on your Flirc? pleasant regards, Chris!
  4. Hi TBS, Currently by command line only: Would be great if you made this thread into a how to for users who aren't command line strong and want the windows button. Pleasant regards Chris!
  5. Hi Kaero, sorry to hear your having problems. What we could do to start off with is to check the flirc and the computer are working well - have you got another remote control you can use to verify that it may be a remote control profile? (All of this after clearing the configuration) Pleasant regards, Chris!
  6. I'm not sure about Jason's costs but so far the plan has been to keep distribution in-house to save money and maximise profit for charity. As always it's up to Jason. [edit] we now have distribution partners, not in U.S.A, so the delivery time is improved: http://www.flirc.tv/distributors/
  7. Yep, I'll add it. Don't know why I've missed it :)
  8. Oops, must have missed that option to put to sleep. Nice write up digitalb0y
  9. Glad it's working and thanks for posting everything you did - may help someone else. Pleasant regards Chris!
  10. Woah, cool. Agreed that the apple button would be easier. If Jason knows their maybe a command line key modifier. Pleasant regards, Chris!
  11. Yeah I can confuse it a little but it usually works. The reason they are recommended as they seem to emit quickly and continuously (so when the remote button is held down it keeps sending that remote button - not just once) That said experimenting never hurts, if you come up with a better combo post it on the forums :) Pleasant regards, Chris!

Love that you didn't go with a sub - I like floor standing speakers so much more (probably for all the wrong reasons) Reckon you could add a picture of Flirc in their - if you want - so we can boast your set-up to other users interested in Flirc (if that's cool) Chris!
  13. Hi all, Akira has asked a question that has me stumped and wonder if anyone can help out. We're trying to put a mac to sleep. I guess there are two solutions but I can't figure them out: 1) use the short cut: shift+ctrl+eject key 2) Invoke a script that sleeps the mac Can anyone help? pleasant regards, Chris!
  14. Hi nickheidke, welcome to the forums, Glad to here the Flirc excitment. I'm guessing here but that remote may have a similar characteristic as MCE remotes where by they toggle between different signals even though the same button is pressed. I would suggest the same solution. Try recording each button press. let us know how it goes, Pleasant regards, Chris!
  15. Hi znelbok, welcome to the forums, The reason for the box is due to the flat-rate Jason gets, simplifying his life and postage properties. Another factor is the customer experience, we try to keep things more closely involved with us so we can offer better support and maximise the money raised for charity (part of the reason distributors weren't such a good fit). That said you are absolutely right, flirc does need to change postage etc - which we are working on. Without promising too much hopefully shipping to europe is gonna get quicker and cheap very soon... (cue excitement). Glad to hear you're enjoying your Flirc, Chris!
  16. Indeed - probably a lot of work for Jason to implement to start with. However things are happening behind the scenes that should free some of his time up... (cue suspenseful music)
  17. Your choice of remote to use via Flirc shouldn't be affected by the OS. I use Harmony 300 with openelec and it works exactly the same as it does on my mac and my brothers PS3
  18. Awesome! Glad you've got it working and double thanks for such a detailed write up of how you did it. Enjoy Flirc-ing pleasant regards, Chris!
  19. Unfortunately i'm not using windows and don't have any AV. But that's not good. Also, it is not maintained by Flirc so we have no control over it. You can still customize XBMC actions using the keymap.xml as burke describes. pleasant regards, Chris!
