  1. Should I take this to mean I am SOL on this issue, and stuck with a expensive paperweight?
  2. For security software I only use Microsoft security essentials, no other third party security software.
  3. Still nothing on my system. flirc_devicebroker-7_6_2023.log flirc20230706.log
  4. I have not, and will not be using the Linux version. sorry. My only (Non VM) linux system is my development laptop which i currently keep pretty much sterile and don't do anything else personal with.
  5. Too busy with work at times to aggressively keep running the app and collect data. flirc_devicebroker-7_1_2023.log flirc20230701.log
  6. Here's the logs from my run. LocalState_logs.7z
  7. Sigh, makes me appreciate that the bulk of my software development has been on Linux platforms the last few years.
  8. This is the first time i can recall seeing a issue like this with third party devices and steam. The only things steam itself tends to interact with at the device level generally is with input devices (including hid) for the steam controller input system (and some other devices if you install Steam VR). I would like to validate that steam is actually making system level changes myself. to be accurate with terminology, when you say "system registry" you are referring to the Windows Property System "System.Devices.RestrictedInterface" and not a actual windows registry entry itself within HKCU or HKLM? I'm on windows 11 22H2, build 22621.1848
  9. I have not touched C# or UWP in a while, but the app manifest Capabilities section may seem a bit sparce? I am assuming you are not going to open source the skip app, so I cannot tinker with things on my own, Maybe i will reverse engineer my own app later if the skip continues being a paperweight.
  10. I made the config file change, Ran the app, allowed elevation of the DeviceRestrictionBroker, Steam and its services not running. Only thing standing out in the log being spammed: I have a feeling the problem here is less steam and more the fact you are making more work for yourself with a UWP app. ;p
  11. just received my Skip 1s today finally after ordering one in Jan, and I also cannot get the remote connected on my system. Windows 11, I also have steam installed. I really hope you can sort the issue out, otherwise a 6 month wait for a 67$ paperweight is highly disappointing.
