  1. Strange that they advertise this when its barely supported. I am not impressed with support either. Seems to be post on the forum and if that doesn't work, oh well.
  2. I have a few second latency on the Flirc USB where it does not recognize any commands for about 2 seconds. My setup is a Skip 1s and Flirc USB in my Nvidia Shield. I programmed the Flirc USB to be the Nvidia Gen 2 controller. All buttons were programmed (for some reason the Menu button, its three horizontal lines, just programs itself without an input which is weird) and they work on the unit. After maybe 6 seconds or so the Flirc stops taking commands and essentially feels like its freezing. I typically just test this by quickly pressing left and right but it also occurs if i press it slowly too Here are the things I have troubleshooted: 1. I have update the firmware on the Flirc 2. I have updated and tried the beta firmware on the Skip 1s 3. I have tried the Nvidia Gen 1 controller configuration 4. I have tried a different universal remote, not a very good one but it programmed to the Flirc, and the problem is worse 5. I have tried a second Flirc USB 6. I have tried point the remote directly up to the Flirc USB 7. I have tried an extender, which makes it laggier, and tried without the extender 8. I have tried the actual Nvidia Gen2 Remote and it works flawlessly without lag 9. I have tried a USB keyboard using a wireless dongle and it works flawlessly 10. Different USB port on the Shield I think I've pretty much ruled out everything I can think of so I cam here for help. I originally started posting in the Skip side of the Forum but felt i ruled that out with using a different universal remote. Any help is appreciated. Starting to suspect the Shield does not like infrared dongles
  3. I also experience this issue. The device i am trying to control is an Nvidia Shield with a Flirc on a dongle so its in line of sight of the remote. I have configured the Skip to work with the shield and also the flirc using its software and the buttons function correctly but intermittently decide to not work. It does feel like the interval is a pattern it works for about 2 seconds of button presses then freezes for 2. I am using the left and right navigation buttons quickly to diagnose this but no matter how quickly or slowly i spam it, it still works for the same interval. I tried the latest beta firmware suggested in this post and the problem persists. My LED brightness is 25% Let me know any other configuration you need to diagnose or reproduce this EDIT: Just had a crazy idea to try it without the extender dongle. The problem is still there but much better. It's interval has changed to working for about 5-6 seconds of presses and then stops for 2 EDIT2: I tried a different universal remote and the problem is even worse. I think this rules out the skip being the issue and its the Flirc usb instead. The usb is brand new tho, maybe its a dud
  4. After some fooling around. I noticed communication stops and starts in intervals. It works for a few seconds then freezes for a few.
  5. Thanks for answering my dumb questions. I programmed the USB as the shield remote. I used the skip 1s remote and pressed the buttons as it requested. I have connected the USB to the shield using an extender that has the sensor pointing directly at the sofa. Now my problem is it's extremely unreliable. 50% of the time it ceases to work when I press a button on the remote. Any ideas? Also, why does the skip 1s have a profile for the shield if the flirc app has you program the remote anyways?
  6. Appreciate the tip. I have one in the mail. After I plug in the USB the remote is already configured to know how to use the USB for the shield?
  7. I received my Skip. I have set up an activity in the Windows app. I have added Nvidia shield as one of my activities for navigation and playback But how do I connect the controller to my Nvidia shield?
