  1. For anyone else looking for the answer to the sleep wake on usb question the answer is here
  2. I have set up FLIRC on a Win 10 machine. Transferred Flirc dongle (2nd Gen) to a laptop dual booting Win 10 & MX Linux. Wake on USB is enabled in the BIOS. Sleep/Wake works in Win 10 (using RC power button to sleep and any button to wake) but only sleep works in MX Linux mode i.e. nothing wakes the machine. Any thought? Thanks
  3. @yawor Thanks. I'd assumed that the power button would have the same function (in the gui) in all controllers. I'm using Gen 2 by the way.
  4. I would like the power button on my remote (I have a spare WDTV and a Panasonic remote which I'm using with Flirc Gen 2) to act as a sleep button. I'm using a Windows 10 laptop to run Kodi. I've tried using the Shut down button in both GUI & command line. Although both report success nothing happens when the power button is pressed. I want sleep rather than shut down anyway. In windows the key combination for sleep is Win key + x (simultaneously) followed by u then s. How should I turn this into a macro? (I have read the manual and searched the forum, but no one else seems to have asked this question). Thank you.
  5. Thanks to both of you (@FrogFan2 & @Yawor) for your pointers. In 20+ years of using computers I've opened Command Prompt probably fewer than a dozen times. So, I can see that I'll need to do some reading about the command prompt before I can take the next step and create my long press keys. You do realise that the examples in the Flirc Gen2 manual are Linux (?) syntax not Windows which also make things a little confusing to neophytes such as myself. Once again thank you for giving your time on the forum. My $'s would have been wasted without you.
  6. Hello Flirc People. I too am a command line dummie. Reading various replies to queries I have finally managed to launch flirc_util.exe in the command prompt (Win 10). However, I don't seem to be able to get any of the commands to work. See below: Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.16299.192] (c) 2017 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
