  1. Simple question first: Is there any way to prevent all button presses except one from waking up the Shield TV? My Environment: I have an HTPC that is running an old version of XBMC, and I control it with a Harmony 650 using a MCE IR dongle. For 4k and HDR stuff, I have been using my Shield TV with its terrible remote. Today was the day that I was going to finally hook up my Flirc to the Shield TV and have one remote to rule them all. I actually got everything working great, except for the wake up issue. When I am blasting Kodi commands to the HTPC, they wake up the Shield TV. It's not all IR commands (like volume up and down) that wake up the Shield TV, but there are a lot of them that apparently overlap. What would be amazing is if I could assign a single key (that I don't otherwise use for the HTPC) to wake up the Shield TV, and only that key (all others to be ignored). Is there any way to do that? The other thought I had was to just map different IR codes to the Full Keyboard controller (which I did), but it seems that the XBMC commands on the HTPC still wake up the Shield TV. Is there any way to make it to where the Flirc only recognizes certain IR codes and no others? My attempt at that was to program my Harmony with some old X10 IR codes, and I then mapped those to the Full Keyboard. It all worked, but again, the other ones still worked too. Does that make sense? I'm super close to having this work perfect for me. Just the one last thing. Any ideas?
  2. Hi, I just received a new FLIRC (the new model). I'm running FW 4.05 and GUI 2.0.1 on a Asrock Z77 Pro4 (Windows 7) I'm having two problems: firstly, I can't get the FLIRC to wake the computer. I've tried enabling and disabling "Wake from USB mouse/kb" in the MB BIOS. I've also tried selecting (and deselecting) all of the "Allow device to wake from sleep" check boxes in device manager to no effect. What is weird is that my computer wakes up from sleep fine using a logitech diNovo edge bluetooth keyboard, but nothing happens through FLIRC. Additionally, and this is probably related, whenever I wake the computer from sleep using the keyboard, FLIRC is disconnected, and I need to remove it and plug it back in again. I've tried plugging it in multiple USB 2.0 and 3.0 slots, and they all produce the same error. Also, in the FAQ, I saw that sometimes power supplies can be an issue, but I've got a Seasonic PS, so I don't think that's the issue. I also made sure that "sleep detection" is checked Any ideas? I'd really like to be able to turn my computer on/off with my new harmony remote. Should I try installing 1.4.4? does that work with the newer FLIRC models? TY in advance!
  3. On this HP PCI Express remote, the PLAY/PAUSE key is triggering the WindowsKey+P command on windows with my flirc set to default. I've been searching the forums to find a way to reprogram it with no dice. Any help would be greatly appreciated This is the error i keep getting when i try to program the Play/Pause Key with anything...
  4. Needing to replace iMon with Flirc, using my Harmony one. Harmony currently uses the MCE-1039 (Media Center Remote) profile in my Harmony .In the Harmony One I can find for Manufacturer Flirc these devices: FireTV, Plex,Kodi(XBMC). I can not locate a MCE-1039, or Media Center Profile. Which one do you suggest?
  5. first, forgive me, but my shift keys aren't working. i have been working on this for a few hours now and have learned a lot. here's what i have discovered and i know. - i bought a used xbox 360 universal remote control at the goodwill today. in good shape, seemingly working fine. able to control my tv power and volume - running kodi 15 on windows 8.1 pro with windows media center - i thought i was golden when i mapped all my xbox 360 media remote buttons to the kodi layout until i went into kodi and some things worked, while others were sporadic. - reading the forums i learned that this was an issue in 2011 presumably because msft was operating on a non-standard frequency. it was eluded to that it would be fixed in the newest fw. i am running 3.6. - i can now recreate it very simply. go to the minimalist mapping. hit the up button icon then the up key on remote, repeat, get error that says its programmed. hit the down key on the remote and flirc gui recognizes it as an up key press. - the suggestion in the bug read me was to change sensitivity to 0 from the command line. not sure if this is still supported, but i used flirc.exe sensitivity 0 pulled the usb out, put it back in and no dice. - changed inter-key delay to 0 and 6, still no dice - this is also an issue with the 4 and 6 keys the 2 and 3 keys and perhaps others. i figured if i could get up and down arrows to work the others would fall into place. - in 2011 someone in the forum mentioned that your website says any remote works but then it was suggested that microsoft remotes not be used. jason said that that should probably be changed so i am hoping that because it still says that on the front page that it has been resolved but my searching has just not yielded the right solution. i have searched this forum, the kodi forum and the remotecontrol forum to no avail. - i think i have three options, a. get this remote to work b. go get a different goodwill remote, c. get the msft receiver. - please help
  6. First of all, I blame myself for not researching this receiver more. I bought another receiver a while back and it "just worked" with my WMC remotes, so I expected Flirc would, too. I didn't realize that it merely mapped IR signals to keystrokes. I have a WMC remote that, I think, came with one of my Hauppauge tuners. (It's been years.) The keys are the same as the Rosewill RHRC-11002, but its shape is more like the Adesso ARC-100 remote (but it's black). Keys http://amazon.com/gp/product/B005ZAK50K Shape http://www.amazon.com/Adesso-Media-Center-remote-control/dp/B000XVNJRM It was nice to get an e-mail about the product before I had even received it. It gave me the feeling that Flirc was truly interested in providing a good customer experience. I like the simple setup and driver installation that automatically updates the firmware (if necessary). The key-mapping portion is very easy to use as well. I suggest improving the method of selecting the configuration though because it's not obvious at startup that the user should do that first. Maybe a panel could be added on the side that lists the available configurations and highlights the selected one. Unfortunately, after installing and configuring my Flirc, there are a few problems with the way I want to use it. 1. Using the WMC configuration, there are a number of missing (and important) buttons: Windows button ("The Green Button") Record Standby Go to TV recordings Go to Guide Go to Live TV Go to DVD Player I don't know if there are equivalent keystrokes, so I'm not sure if it's possible to map these, but it'd sure be nice. The Green Button is weird, because it seems to work sometimes. That might be related to point #2 below, but I haven't had a lot of time to experiment yet. I'll update this post with more info if I have any. 2. I must press a button on my remote twice in order for WMC to respond. This is , pretty obviously, a deal-breaker, and I think, regardless of its support for WMC remotes, this is something Flirc needs to fix (or tell me what I'm doing wrong, which is certainly probable). :-)
  7. I have 2 Windows 7 Media Center computers in the same room. One is normally the media server, and the other is normally my PC, but sometimes I need to switch if I've recorded something that is cable card encrypted, copy protected as play once, and gets recorded on my PC, but not on my media server. The system includes 2 SiliconDust HDHomeRun Primes, a Pioneer Elite Receiver/ Home Theater, a regular, generic, non-programmable, HP WMC remote and a Lenovo WMC USB IR receiver, and it all works ok. I also have a Harmony 700. I now also have added an HP MediaSmart TV Remote (remote only, no HP TV - P/N 5189-3683) that can be programmed for various CBL, DVD, AVR and AUX devices, as well as the non-configurable HP MediaSmart TV Profile. It apparently uses the XBMC command set for the TV Profile from what I've read, which apparently is different than the WMC command set, as the remote does not control my WMC server using that TV Profile. It can achieve somewhat limited WMC functionality by loading the right code into one of the other CBL, DVD, AVR, or AUX profiles, but the limited usage is pre-determined by the hardware in so much as what buttons and functions actually do anything in those modes. The remote: HP MediaSmart TV RC2285202/01 P/N 5189-3683: http://www.giftspub.com/HP%20MediaSmart%20TV%20remote%20setting%20manual.pdf The MediaSmart TV that the remote was made for: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=us&product=3369894&dlc=en&docname=c01445164#N1099 So, my plan is to use FLIRC to work with TV Profile on that MediaSmart remote, to operate my WMC 7 media server. I'll use the standard WMC remote system with my other PC. Are my assumptions correct and should that work? If so, this should then allow my Harmony 700 remote to be able to control either WMC and everything else in the system, and I'll also have the dedicated remotes, one for each WMC, and the remotes should not interfere with each other.
  8. Having trouble trying to program Play and Pause for Windows Media Center. i seem to be able to program all functionality, except for these 2. GUI says "recorded successfully", but when i try to use the buttons, nothing happens. I've also tried using different buttons on the remote (ie not Play & Pause on the remote), but with the same result. I've tried 2 different remote controls, i'm able to program all functionality i need, except for Play and Pause. flirc firmware: 2.3 flirc gui: 1.2.2 remotes used: Tivo (series 2) and Samsung Smart TV remote any ideas?
  9. Hello, I have a Logitech K700 keyboard (from my Logitech Revue Google TV) that I am going to be using as my keyboard/mouse for my new HTPC. There is a thread on the Autohotkey forums here that uses custom scripts with Autohotkey to add functionality to the K700 keyboard. Before I install the software and attempt this custom script, I'm wondering if anyone knows if using Autohotkey on the "real" keyboard will impact my Flirc unit at all? I don't want any conflicts to mess with it. I may interested in using Autohotkey for the Flirc at some point in the future as I work on switching between WMC and either XBMC and MB3, so I want to see if anyone has any experience with this. Thanks!

Having a heck of a time getting the flirc to play nice with both xbmc and mc7. I does anybody have any experience with using this reg file? http://xbmccustomreg...ourceforge.net/ Just trying to make this as wife proof as possible before I leave on business. mc7 strictly for live tv. xbmc for everything else. I am confused in the order in which all steps should be taken and which options to use. Basically everything. In the logitech software - add media center pc -> microsoft -> se. In the flirc software which configuration option do I use? windows media (which has no up/down chan buttons btw)? Full keyboard? xbmc. I have configured this option and enabled the MCE remote addon in xbmc and had 0 luck. Not sure what else to do... Is there anybody else out there with a similar setup that can make suggestions? Once this is all said and done will be happy to create a tutorial for the site as this has lead to much frustration. thank you
