andy_d
Hi. I went with what is in the sticky as it mentioned that it addressed lag with pressing keys. Well, after doing the initial setup for the Panasonic remote, I feel like navigation is super slow. Definitely slower than what I had before with USB UIRT + a windows remote config. I also tried out navigating with my iphone (using Hippo) and that worked as expected Am I missing something?
Chris!
Hi Andy_d, welcome to the forums, Flirc isn't perfect regarding the sticky issue - this also affected repeat rate. See my signature for an explanation. You may have better experiences with other presets such as sky remotes. We are considering making a flirc profile for harmony. Pleasant regards, Chris
andy_d
Edit - I see the sticky post only addresses repeat keys so my fault There should probably be another post mentioning there is an outsanding issue with sticky keys. I don't think I would have purchased a flirc if I knew it performed this way. For now I'm back to using my USB UIRT
Chris!
Apologies, I will try to make it more visible - I've had it in my signature and I comment on nearly all threads but I will try to figure out a way. Hopefully if Jason magic's up some free time in his full schedule he may find a solution. Chris!
andy_d
Yeah, I think it's necessary. I just tried to use the same config I had with the USB UIRT and it's worse off than using the Panasonic remote config I hope Jason can fix this as well
andy_d
Changing the delay in the remote settings helped a bit. Don't think it's much of an issue now. I would probably add that info to the sticky as well. When I first added the Panasonic remote, it was at 1000ms. Changing it to 100ms made a big difference
Chris!
I've started a thread for people considering buying Flirc - hopefully it can help people make an informed choice through little user reviews: The reason for this is so I don't clutter up the forums with lots of stickies and hopefully it will throw up things we wouldn't have noticed otherwise. andy_d
I think it makes sense to. But I feel like if you're going to have a sticky on recommended remotes for Harmony already it wouldn't hurt to also mention about delay settings. Done! http://forum.flirc.tv/index.php?/topic/22-harmony-remotes/ Thanks for pointing it out :)
