larryfrank20
Out of the box FLIRC connected to the FLIRC app. It then asked to be upgraded and the current firmware is : firmware 3.6 . The FLIRC app is 0.98 The Mac os is Snow Lepard 10.68. ( 1.36 will not work with Snow Lepard ) The software runs, but will not record the button presses of any remote( I tryed 3 or 4 different remotes). Is the problem software or hardware related?? (Sorry I can not edit the title. ( should be using firmware3.6 with app 0.98) Thanks. Larry Edited May 23, 2015 by larryfrank20
larryfrank20
Checked the hardware on windows 8.1 worked perfectly. So I know it is not a hardware problem.
yawor
Hi, How did upgrade the firmware? On the Windows? Because Flirc app 0.98 doesn't have firmware 3.6 included so it couldn't offer you to do the upgrade. The 3.6 firmware is included in the app version 1.3.6. You probably won't be able to program Flirc with firmware 3.6 using app 0.98. But you don't need the app for Flirc to work. You only need the app for programming. You can program it on Windows and then use it on OS X. PS. I'm removing your second thread as it is basically same subject.
larryfrank20
I'm not quite sure what I did . I upgraded on my Mac. It is possible that I ran app 1.3.6 on my mac, upgraded the firmware to 3.6, then realized that under snow leopard app version 1.3.6 will not recognize the Flirc. Is it possible to force a reload of the firmware to what it was before the upgrade?
