Unable to upgrade firmware

Hello,

I just bought a Flirc usb receiver and tried to flash it from a virtual machine with Windows. The flirc GUI app restarted and left flirc in a weird state.

I've tried since to upgrade the firmware via the gui on a standalone Windows machine, however it crashes instantly when flirc is connected.

I am unable to go to advanced menu or do any operations with the GUI tool.

I am able to communicate with flirc via my Linux box.  This are the outputs of some of the util commands.

flirc_util device_log
NVMCTRL bad command

What can I do to fix this?
I've read on the forum that maybe flashing firmware to it, might do the trick, but I am unable to find it anywhere.

Thanks
