item Posted November 1, 2023 Report Posted November 1, 2023 (edited) Hi, this is a bit of a joke, the product's motto "It just works". I have opened half a dozen pages, each of which give different installation instructions for Linux, and none of them seem to work. I am using Debian stable (12), x86_64. $ cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/flirc_fury.list # deb [trusted=yes] https://apt.fury.io/flirc/ / deb http://apt.flirc.tv/arch/x64 binary/ $ sudo apt update ... E: The repository 'http://apt.flirc.tv/arch/x64 binary/ Release' does not have a Release file. If I use the .io repo, I just get Ign:8 https://apt.fury.io/flirc InRelease Ign:9 https://apt.fury.io/flirc Release Ign:10 https://apt.fury.io/flirc Packages Ign:11 https://apt.fury.io/flirc Translation-en_US Ign:12 https://apt.fury.io/flirc Translation-en Get:10 https://apt.fury.io/flirc Packages $ sudo apt install flirc Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree... Done Reading state information... Done E: Unable to locate package flirc ??? Thanks for pointers. Edited November 1, 2023 by item Quote
WhyWontItJustWork Posted December 21, 2023 Report Posted December 21, 2023 I have the exact same problem. I also tried this page, but all the links are broken and the script just runs and does nothing. https://flirc.com/ubuntu-software-installation-guide What a sick joke. Quote

ceric Posted March 16 Report Posted March 16 (edited) Hey guys, I want to tell you i found here a solution in order to make it work with debian 12. I use debian 12 too and this dongle. It works after manipulation of Starlight wrote in his post and the link post by WhyWontItJustWork is there i downloaded last week the archive for my architecture. But the folders of the archive for all architectures are only executable. Don't install the command line curl apt.flirc.tv/install.sh | sudo bash It doesn't work, i had try in vain. So you can follow the solution found by Starlight and you will enjoy use the dongle and your remote control. It's the only solution to make it works at this time. Edited March 16 by ceric Quote
