  1. Hi all, I’ve just gotten my Skip1s and USB bundle. Really excited and trying to get things set up, but I’m running into a problem I can’t seem to solve. Issue: Can’t control Plex via Skip1s as programmed in Skip app Set up: Skip1s programmed “PC” for “Flirc” and “Plex” in Skip app v0.9.956 beta. Synced to “A” Activity button FLIRC USB and software v3.27.10 Windows 11 Pro Plex HTPC v10.0.22631 Observations: Controls as programmed via the settings synced from Skip app to “A” activity don’t trigger the expected behaviour in Plex. I am able to program some aspects of Plex controls with Skip1s via FLIRC USB software, but not all (so obviously not desirable long term). When no settings are programmed in FLIRC USB software and the device log is set to “Enable IR Debugging”, IR signals from Skip1s are detected. Activity “B” settings for TV and Soundbar work as programmed in Skip app. FLIRC USB doesn’t show in Windows Device Manager, including, hidden devices. Attempted remedies: Full system restart Powered Skip1s off/on via removal of batteries for >10 minutes Moved FLIRC USB to multiple alternative usb ports, including a usb hub, front panel and mobo backplate I/O. Program desired settings to activities “B” and “C” via Skip app Reset Skip1s settings in Skip app, used Skip app on alternative windows machine to set up Skip1s as a new device. Used FLIRC USB and software on alternative machine. Outcome: Issue persists, namely, input via Skip1s remote results in no action in Plex. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I love this product already, I just want to make this work and it’ll be perfect.
  2. Hello all, I just recently purchased a Flirc, a device I have had my eye on for a very long time, and so far I am very happy with it. It is currently connected to my Windows 10 HTPC running Plex. I wanted to share a small AHK script which will do three things to prevent me from having to grab the PC keyboard when plex is closed/minimized, the volume is muted, or I want to minimize plex when using Netflix (TV App). Launch plex if it is not already running, maximize it, then full screen it if needed (Record button on remote > CTRL+SHIFT+F1) Note: You may need to update the plex directory if yours is not "C:\Program Files\Plex\Plex Media Player\PlexMediaPlayer.exe" Unmute and set the volume 100% (Volume Up on remote > CTRL+SHIFT+F2) Minimize Plex to prevent the button pushes in Netflix from doing things in Plex (Netflix button on remote > CTRL+SHIFT+F3) I hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions! Cheers, Ned FlircAssistant.ahk
  3. Hi folks, I recently swapped out my windows based HTPC for a Shield TV. I've got it up and running no sweat and have an activity tied to my Harmony Ultimate. No problems there. However, I'm interested in understanding if my flirc is even useful at this point. Does anyone out there have any good examples of how to use flirc with a shield tv? I would love to toggle subtitles, change audio feeds, and play directly from the plex dashboard (as opposed to having to go into a film or tv episode's detail page) but I don't think that's possible. Am I wrong? If i am - and this stuff can be done - is there a guide out there? Regardless, to reiterate my earlier statement - any of you kind folks using FLIRC w. Shield TV and if so why?
  4. Hey guys, I'm sure its been asked but whats the best setup for using Flirc, on Plex Media Player (Embedded) + Harmony Touch on a Intel NUC 5i3? I have it setup and it turns on and off using the Intel NUC device, and Flirc controls Plex ok, but there are a few buttons missing. eg, Menu and DVR. I'd love Menu to take you back to the very first menu on PMP, is this possible? Also I've noticed a delay of like 1s when pressing a button and PMP moving. I've read the article saying its the hardware or remote, but if I use the NUC built in IR it works quicker. I've set Harmony to have 0ms delay with inputs, but the delay still remains. Not sure if I've configured it incorrectly, any ideas?
  5. Hello, I got my FLIRC a few days ago and I'm able to record commands, but when I plug it into my HTPC the remote doesn't work. Here is my setup: GIGABYTE GB-BXI3H-4010 Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit Harmony One remote - Flirc XBMC device programmed Plex Flirc info: v1.3.5 Gui Firmware v3.6 Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
  6. I see there are lots of nice Controller templates in Flirc 1.4.4. Could there be one added for PLEX as well, please?
  7. Trying to set up my Harmony Ultimate remote for optimal use with my Alienware Alpha. Where I'm stumbling is creating an easy way to launch/switch between applications with customized buttons/settings for each. Here's my setup: PC: Alienware Alpha Remotes: Harmony Ultimate / Hub / Smart Keyboard Apps: Plex Media Player, Kodi, Steam I've figured out how to launch apps using keyboard shortcuts, but they don't work when in another app. So I'd either need to be working from the desktop or somehow makes the keyboard commands universal. Ideally I think how I'd like to set it up is to have unique "activities" for each app ("Watch Plex", "Watch Kodi" etc.) that launch the app and close it upon turning off or switching activities. I have the flirc but haven't figured out how its commands can be made app-specific. I would need to do this because these apps have different keymaps, correct? It seems to me like flirc is more geared towards "dumb" remotes with buttons only, whereas I can program commands with the Harmony. Is that true? Is Eventghost or Intelliremote the answer? I'd previously used RemoteBuddy on my Mac and it worked flawlessly - these don't seem nearly as user friendly. Is there a tutorial somewhere for what I'm looking for??
  8. Let me start off by saying this product is great. I am having only one issue which seems very odd to me. I am running PLEX on a HTPC and for whatever reason when I am in the media menu the enter button seems to select the item then go back immediately. When I'm in the main menu with the power and preferences options it works perfectly though. Using the keyboard it doesn't have any issues, only my remote does. I've tried changing the inter key delay which helped with scrolling, but nothing else seems to correct this issue. Any help is greatly appreciated!
  9. Hi How to best put the pieces together? I understad that its best to choose the "Flirc XBMC" device in the myHarmony (It may eventually come a "flirc PLEX" device but until then I suppose that XBMC is the way to go). I have a problem with the "back" button, it lets me go backwards in the meny but I cant get back to the menu when I started a film... Is there i a guide or some tips and trix anyone can offer me? I use PLEX for the desktop but I love to move to the win8 app becouse its a better UI, however it seams that the app its not with out its fair share of problems so I stick to the desktop for now... Thanks
