    Edit: And by "got this to work" I mean for my use case, i.e. that Kodi is the sole receiver of remote input, regardless of what other app is running in foreground.

    I have the same use case. How did you done this exactly?

  2. Windows11 MiniPC with Kodi, Flirc USB, minimalist remote control, OpenVPN to "take along".
    Flirc works.
    The problem is establishing the WIFI connection in changing environments.
    I can create a script with calling available wifi's and windows virtual keyboard:
     %windir%\explorer.exe ms-availablenetworks:
      %windir%\system32\osk.exe
    Now the idea would be to use the arrow keys to select the charcters for the WIFI password. Unfortunately, the virtual keyboard cannot be operated with the remote control.
    Does anyone have a solution or idea for solving this problem, maybe an alternate virtual keyboard for windows?
    (without connect mouse/keyboard or "big" remote control).
