Are you accepting the request? Remove all other versions of the skipapp, and reboot.

I am indeed accepting the request. I removed all versions, rebooted, installed the new one, rebooted, and tried to plug in the remote with failure. when I plug it in I see the briefest of flashes of the gui but it never detects the remote. I saw it popup in the windows dialog saying "installing skip1s" but that was it. I still got a UAC prompt when I plugged it in (that I accepted)

Sorry, I mean build type. Is it a pre-built, laptop, etc. Really trying to reproduce this. I'm still continuing work, hang in there.

custom build. desktop, asus tuf z590, i9-11900kf, 32gb ram, rtx 3090. not sure all of what youre looking for here.

I've tried using a c<=>c cable and an c<=>c cable, same outcome. tried using mobo ports and hub on monitor.

On your download page it states specifically that your software works with Windows 7:

Why not use a package installer like .msi for those users that use an older OS?  By not doing that you are isolating almost 200 million Win7 users according to Digital Information World.

This is a UWP app, so W10+. I'm guessing the W7/8 listing is a hold over from the OTHER stuff that still uses the classic installer(s), e.g. the FLIRC.

I can pull it for you if you can point in to the location it's stored. I don't see a way to open it from the app itself.

On a side note I forgot I could use my W11 laptop from work which DOES keep the sync so it might just be a W10 issue. I was able to get the Sony TV and Denon AVR mostly working but the Shield TV doesn't seem to work at all. It does work with my old Logitech 650 and the FLIRC dongle so I'm fairly certain it just has the wrong commands in the DB for it? Seems to be missing a few commands as well... like the back button.

Log file is stored here: %localappdata%\Packages\1ee3f564-2cd0-4ef3-af35-da985b1d7f00_sddpyax1dmvqm\LocalState

I've the same issue, with new version as well; using same cable that works via the MacOS VM. For some reason I cannot upload any files to the forum, heres this instead https://pastebin.com/FApn7Rjd. It says "1 file would exceed the total allowed size of 71.315kB, and was skipped" when I try to upload ANY files or pictures.

It's signed, maybe the link was stale? No idea, shows up on my machine.

I'm going nuts. We've been using the app for a year without most of these issues. Maybe it was the effects of the installer, we only ran the msix. So lets start fresh.

Uninstall completely from your computer. Go to Add/Remove Programs. Remove every Skip App you see. Re-Download from the web, and start fresh. Lets see how that goes.

    I am not crazy: https://share.cleanshot.com/2dHsCSNj

We're all a little crazy. my download was stale I guess. Version from this afternoon, and another from just now. https://i.imgur.com/0ineVQV.jpg

Removed the old one, and installed the newest one (that is signed). Same behavior, remote not detected, flashes momentarily that it might be detected but goes back to undetected.

Separate question - is it possible to download the config from a remote?

  6. It appears this misx isnt signed at all, I'm unable to install it.The error when trying to install the MSIX is:

This app package’s publisher certificate could not be verified. Contact your system administrator or the app developer to obtain a new app package with verified certificates. The root certificate and all immediate certificates of the signature in the app package must be verified (0x800B010A)

I drag and dropped the files into the existing directory, so I wouldnt trust this for reliable testing. I dont see that popup error anymore, but it flashes twice between "Remote is connected" "Remote is not connected" on the bottom left corner every time I plug in the remote, ultimately not being connected.

  7. Your base installer package is fine now that the correct password is included for the PFX certificate. For me, everything installs into 'C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\1ee3f564-2cd0-4ef3-af35-da985b1d7f00_0.9.1.5229_x64__vg5akken3mtem' (link as I cant seem to attach files anymore https://i.imgur.com/RVYO6Qf.jpg)

I've noticed that when I connect the remote AFTER the main application is open and I've created a remote, it will flash the bottom left that it is connected and disconnected and pop the errors again. Seems the editor works fine, just cant download the configuration.

Is the remote supposed to show up as an HID device or do I maybe need a driver that is missing?

Still no joy. I also get errors for SharedLibrary.dll and mrt100_app.dll. I'm able to copy them over from Microsoft.NET.Native.Framework.2.2_2.2.29512.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe and Microsoft.NET.Native.Runtime.2.2_2.2.28604.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe, the cert errors only happen after the installer finishes, I assume as it tries calls the .exe directly but windows apps tend to hate that. When run from the icon on the start menu, I still get the "something went wrong, cant detect remote." (with no cert errors). Remote is detected as a HID input device. FWIW, your certs are installing finally.

OKAY! I got it. I tried on my windows 11 laptop, and still same issue as before, not actually installing the app. However, if i snag the msix file from my desktop before it gets deleted, then install the certificate of the msix to my local machine and then trusted certificates, I am able to install it. HOWEVER, upon plugging my remote in it just says "we were unable to obtain information from your skip remote." I'm assuming I don't have all of the dependencies, or something or other. But the app looks nice at least!

Same for me. Looks like missing libraries on the installer. RIP.

I have tried installing this version of the Skipapp several times on Windows 10 Pro with a reboot each time. The icon shows on the desktop but the app doesn’t seem to be installed. The app doesn’t show on the start menu and there isn’t a folder for it in the Program Files folder.

The icon on the desktop attempts to open this:

    "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\1ee3f564-2cd0-4ef3-af35-da985b1d7f00_0.9.0.5182_x64__vg5akken3mtem\SkipApp.exe"

I don’t have a file in my Program Files folder called Windows Apps.

I'm having same issue. Just got my remote on Saturday and never installed any version before. Ran as administrator, saw the powershell window flash and disappear, shortcut points to nothing. Also on Win10.
