[Windows 8.1 Streacom F8 Alpha with Flirc - Will not Connect]

Is there a special way to install on W8, I have been through the FAQ and how to guides on here.

[Windows 8.1 Streacom F8 Alpha with Flirc - Will not Connect]

I have just built a new HTPC in this great case and purchased a Flirc receiver that is designed for it.

 

I originally had Windows 7 installed and immediately upgraded to Windows 8. The Flirc was recognised in device manger on W7 but on W8 it is not there and after installing the software to see if the drivers would kick in all I get is the "Please Connect " message.

 

Any suggestions?
