My own fault actually- was running V1.3.6 of the GUI which wasn't playing nice with the v3.7 on the FLIRC. Updated to V1.3.7 of the gui and all now working as it should. I musn't have dropped the Flirc 1.3.7 GUI into the Applications folder the last time I ran it to update the firmware so was still running V1.3.6...

I'm having some difficulty in getting FLIRC GUI to recognise the device
The FLIRC appears in the usb devices with the following properties
flirc:
Product ID: 0x0001
Vendor ID: 0x20a0
Version: 1.00
Speed: Up to 1.5 Mb/sec
Manufacturer: flirc.tv
Location ID: 0x1d100000 / 3
Current Available (mA): 500
Current Required (mA): 100
When the flirc is plugged in the GUI reads Firmware V3.7 in the lower left hand corner above the erase button but the GUI still reads disconnected in the lower right corner.
If i remove the Flirc device the Firmware V3.7 text disappears from the GUI and Firmware v-9.-9 appears in the lower left corner instead.
Mac flirc_util embedded in Flirc.app can't find libusb-1.0.0.dylib

The libusb-1.0.* is in Frameworks now so use
cp /Applications/Flirc.app/Contents/Frameworks/libusb-1.0.* /usr/local/lib/
instead of cp /Applications/Flirc.app/Contents/Resources/libusb-1.0.* /usr/local/lib/
