  1. OK, OK,... sorry for raising the alarm.  Solved the issue with cycling the unit into and out of upgrade mode :

    C:\Program Files\Flirc>flirc_util.exe dfu
Putting device in Firmware Upgrade Mode...  Done!

  2. Got my flirc a couple of days ago, and it was working great.

This morning after extensive programming, I attempted to program the 'wake' key.  Things went downhill from there... locked up software, bootload mode, lost device in device manager.  Firmware reporting as version -16.-16

Anyway, took it to work and have managed to perform firmware update and get connection to the device again.

The flirc GUI will now allow programming of a key (so it's seeing the remote's signal), but the flirc won't acknowledge the remote when not programming.  (which it did before)

    C:\Program Files\Flirc>flirc_util.exe settings

  3. I had this issue.  Almost every time I click a key on the GUI it would say "button already exists".

No amount of clearing, or firmware update fixed the issue.  I almost thought I had broken my flirc after only two days!

I tried every setting and possible gui and flirc_util.exe action I could, no luck.

Then I turned off the flourescent lights in my office. . . . .  bingo!

  4. I solved the problem by using two programs.

FLIRC to translate the remote to keystrokes,

          and

NEATMOUSE to translate the keystrokes to mouse control.

I've also control my system volume the same way.

FLIRC to translate the remote to keystrokes,

          and

Volume2 to translate the keystrokes to volume control and display of volume level.
