  1. Thanks for the reply!

I do realise that - my point is, that a Microsoft MCE Remote works, as do the media keys on my Logitech Dinovo Mini.

However, setting controller to MCE Keyboard and programming the PLAY button on the keyboard to the PLAY button on the remote does not work.

I decided to cut my losses and replace the flirc with a standard MCE receiver.

    Cheers!

  2. Hi,

I've been using my Harmony One + flirc + Mediaportal for some time now and it worked great.

I'm now beta testing some software, and I'm struggling to get the flirc to work with it.

I reprogrammed the keys to be the Windows Media Center device (which is what the software is supposed to work with), and navigation and enter key works, but the transport controls (PLAY/PAUSE/RW/FW/STOP) don't work.

Using my Logitech Dinovo Mini keyboard, the STOP, RW/FW work with the software, so my question is, what keyboard commands do the Logitech keys convert to if any?

  3. It would be nice to be able to buy an alternative version of flirc for internal installation, I have small kids and a dongle sticking out would dissappear or break quite fast, and imo it looks better ;)

First thing I did when I got the device in the mail was to break it open and solder on a cable for internal usb connection and drilled a couple of holes in the htpc front and mounted it with a custom mounting bracket I made, works perfectly.

But unfortunately not everyone feels comfortable with a soldering iron so be able to buy this ready to go, possibly with a mounting bracket would be great. :D

So this is my simple suggestion and thank you for a great product!

I need to do this very shortly.. Do you have wiring details please?

  4. This is driving me potty now.

I downloaded the RC3 software and now it recognises button presses on my remote.

I did a clear config and then tried to learn a key (up arrow) but it said it already existed?

I also tried on a windows machine and get the same error. I tried the automated learning thing - that crashed on the 3rd key!

It also crashed on my Macbook Pro.

I plugged the Flirc back in the Windows machine and all the buttons still work as they did before, so I presume it didn't actually clear the configuration? I tried to clear it on both Mac & Windows..

    Any ideas?

  5. I think I got my head around it lying in bed last night!

At the moment, I have the Harmony programmed with the XBMC profile as I was using that. It still mostly works in Mediaportal.

Some buttons are wrong however - so do I just leave the Harmony as it is and reprogram the Flirc to correspond to the right keys? Can I just reprogram a couple of keys without affecting the rest of the buttons?

    Cheers!

  6. I'm struggling to figure how I need to set this up...

I have Flirc, Harmony One and Mediaportal (and the list of keyboard commands for Mediaportal)

I want to be able to just assign keyboard commands to buttons on the remote - I used to do this through the Harmony software when I used a MCE IR receiver, and used a Media Center Keyboard as the device.

How do I do it now? Can I just select a keyboard device in the harmony software?

    Thanks!
