I cannot get flirc installed on my linux machine

I have read and read and read and I am getting frustrated now. I am new to linux, so please bear that in mind, but I have followed one thread after another trying to install this damn thing and it's one roadblock after another. First and foremost, the repo DOES NOT EXIST! http://apt.flirc.tv/arch/x64 is not there. Yet ALL of the instuctionals I can find tell you to get your stuff from there. Came here just to say this worked for me on Mint 21.1/Ubuntu 22.04 Today. This should be the official Linux how-to. More or less did exactly the same thing and grabbed the udev script from here. The official repo is broken and the official install script doesn't report errors. Rebooted twice before discovering it never installed any packages! Also the udev files are not bundled into the tarball so this was the only place to find them. Again this is what worked for me. I think a few of the d
