Flirc SE problems. Windows 10 won't recognize. Help please!

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I recently purchased a FLIRC SE edition. Unfortunately I'm having a lot of problems and can't get Windows 10 to recognise the device.

The flirc SE shows a blue light and I can power on the system with the physical power switch but windows 10 does not recognise it and the Flirc settings application shows DISCONNECTED.

The device shows in device manager as UNKNOWN USB DEVICE (Device Descriptor Request Failed)

I have tried different USB headers on the motherboard, I have tried different wiring and every other thing I can think of but it still won't recognise. I followed the steps outlined on the Flirc website to manually install the device driver, but that won't work.

My system build is listed below

Asus z270g mATX motherboard
Windows 10
i5 7600k
16gb ram
Corsair cs 550w psu

I would really appreciate any support you can offer.

Since I've had no response, here or the support email, I've been forced to conclude that the device is faulty and I've returned it.

In my system, the Flirc GUI indicated that it knew when the Flirc was connected and disconnected, but in over three weeks of trying various options, I was not consistently able to get it to recognize signals from my remote.
