Using Flirc to shut down an Android Media Player

Hi there, I'm hoping somebody can help answer a question.

I have a Minix Neo U1 media player that I'm really pleased with except for one thing - I can't fully shut it down from the IR remote, only put it into standby. For various reasons I don't want to have to go into here, I really need to be able to shut it down via a single IR command and not a set of button presses so a desperate google search has led me to this forum.

Flirc sounds like it might be what I need but I can't find anything specifically in the forums to confirm it so I'll just ask outright: If I bought one, could I use Flirc to initiate a full shutdown of an Android device when a specific IR command is sent? If so, how? I assume I'd need some sort of app. to do the actual shutdown which could be called by Flirc but I'm not really sure.

Cheers in advance for any help you can give.

Hi,

I'm not aware of any keyboard shortcuts in Android that would allow shutting down the device completely instead of just suspending. As Flirc acts as an USB keyboard you need to find out if your device has such keyboard shortcut implemented.

I'm only aware of force restart of Android device by pressing Alt + Ctrl + Del.
