May 14, 20251 yr comment_40888 Hi to all, Just bought a Skip s1 and have been running it though it's paces. I have had a Flirc USB for years and love it. Was using a Harmony elite but it finally gave up the ghost. I picked the Skip because I like how Flirc has approached the issues with remotes with the USB and Skip. I build things and I like the Flirc ethos. "These big companies have no clue about this market space I can do it better." I do not have to complicated setup. I have a Sony XR-77A80CJ, a Sony UBP-X700, HTPC windows 10 running Kodi, and a Denon AVR-X4200W. I an on Skip s1 firmware version 4.13.11-0-gd4238fe. Most every thing is working fine. The biggest problem i have run in to is repeat commands when I only want one. I setup a alt-tab key to change between Kodi and a web browser on my HTPC using Flirc USB and it works fine when I map it to a remote of choice colored key but when I record it over to the skip I get a repeat command. So here are a few questions Am I on the most current or recommended firmware version? I have seen an admin option in the forums, how do I enable it? I have also notice that the remote will lockup ever once in a while. Pulling to battery seems to fix this but was wondering if this was a know issue and had been address with a firmware update? What ever feed back I can give to help this product I'm all in. Report
May 15, 20251 yr Author comment_40893 Hi to All, Doing a little debugging. Capture button from Denon green I have mapped to atl-tab with flirc usb and then captured button from skip s1 mapped to recorded denon green button. Using Flirc usb devicelog with enable IR debugging checked to capture raw data and porting it to AnalysIR to debug. Hex for both are identical Hex 2A 4C 02 89 28 A3 2A 4C 02 89 28 A3 When I review the raw data I see what looks like the data being sent twice for both remotes. The difference is the the pause between the 2nd command. The denon is 74000 microseconds. and the Skip s1 is much faster at 42000 microseconds. To fast? New to debugging IR so take it with a grain of salt. Also noticed pulses were different Denon Green button Protocol JAPANESE Value 2A4C028928A3 Value_2 # Bits 48 # Pulses 300 Carrier (Hz) 0 Skip Protocol JAPANESE Value 2A4C028928A3 Value_2 # Bits 48 # Pulses 200 Carrier (Hz) 0 . May 17, 20251 yr Author comment_40910 I found how to enable admin here: Used Sysinternals Process Monitor to track down skip version I'm running https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/procmon#download Dropped config.json here C:\Users\Beaker\AppData\Local\Packages\SkipApp_nk6j7xazwq5t8\LocalState\ and restart skip. Admin tab very cool. Report
