Recorded Devices fail to appear in project (or library)

Featured Replies

After following the 'Add Activity'>  Add Device> Record Now wizard steps to create and record the IR button functions from a device not yet found in the database, the recorded device fails to appear in the Model list (after searching the previously entered Brand).   The specific device is a matrix 4x4 HDMI switcher offered by Portta, but attempting this process with other unlisted devices elicits the same result.

Observations:

  1. The 'Record Now' device wizard appears to perform as expected thru all three tabs (My Device, Design, Record) after which 'Save' was selected, returning me to the Device Selector within the 'Add Activity' wizard.  However, the Model Name previously entered does not appear after filtering by the Brand name (also previously entered).
  2. Incidentally, when I make a 2nd attempt to 'Record Now', the previously entered and designed remote appears, with the option to Save, but selecting this repeats the same observation above.
  3. As I dug deeper, I enabled the 'Advanced Admin Panel' and was able to find each of the multiple attempts at recording a new device (after selecting the 'Brands' tab).

Is there any other troubleshooting steps I should attempt?

The end goal is being able to append a matrix preset to an activities Power button sequence (I'm aware of the risks of doing this).

Thanks in advance,

Chris

My hunch is that the new device is not being properly saved to the local database instance.  Is there any other troubleshooting steps I should attempt?

What OS, SkipApp Version are you using?

What category is the recorded device you used, is it Misc?

Skip App version RC/0.9.993 installed on a Windows 11 Pro 64 bit machine.  Yes, I selected the Misc category for the new Device.

So after hunting around the forum a bit and running a few more of my own tests, it appears that Recording New devices and selecting the 'Audio' category (instead of Misc) allows the new remote to be properly displayed within the Config.  This is a preliminary observation and no control of the new device has been confirmed (as of yet).

  • Is there a build which contains a fix for the this issue?

Thanks for your time and attention.

Sorry, I suspected this and couldn't follow-up fast enough. Yes, it should be fixed in this version:
