I have tried the New Build and it seems to have fixed the Issue I Reported regarding the Devices Switching On and immediately being Switched Off.

I am now able to use the Skip 1s again, Thanks.

One Quick Question.

Does this New Build Fix the Issue with Learning Remotes where it will only Learn the First, and maybe the Second, Button but no more than that?

This will fix it. You probably need to clear your device though. There was a bug in a RC and I think it’s sticky.

I don't want to sounds like a jerk, but this app is required to use the $50 remote ($43 atm since there is still a black friday deal, apparently) and it has a lot of bugs. I spent months letting the remote sit because I didn't feel like working around the issues only to come back to it today to find out that a new version still hasn't been released. Thankfully the issue I experienced was fixed in 0.9.994, but many people using the version provided on the downloads page aren't going to go to the forums to find updates. This RC really needs to be put up there.

 

Also, being that this is a react app, couldn't it be a web app instead of a native app? Chrome provides access to USB serial devices. This would make it much easier for users to receive updates.

This may need moved to another topic, or maybe a specific Linux section, but I'll initially add this note here (and an Admin can move it or ask me to if they see fit). I'm running an older firmware, and saw the others who were experiencing the inability to record key-presses when manually configuring their devices. I should note that I'm running the latest Appimage for Linux that I downloaded today. I saw that a firmware update has fixed some user's issues with recording, and I have the same issue.

However, I can not update said firmware following the method above. My remote does get the red circle, and shows connected when the Appimage is launched, but then nothing happens. While I am able to sync pre-defined devices to my remote, I happen to own two audio devices that are not listed in the database. When I make the necessary configuration manually, and press record, I get the error that others have experienced. 

I am stuck, since I can not update the firmware. More specifically, the "checking" spinning circle just spins forever in the app. I ran the Appimage from the command line, and get a few errors that are probably relevant, as they are network related. Also, I do not see the wrench icon at all, so I can not go into Admin mode.

• Export the configuration.
• Close the app.
• Restart the app
• Go back to activity, edit the newly added custom device.
• Custom buttons have lost their labels (seems to be using the last label).
• Record button is disabled (can't add new buttons) or re-record existing button.

My use case was that I finished recording the custom device, but one button was not right. I wanted to back and simply "fix" that one button.

Perfect, thank you. There are a lot of dataset changes under the hood and Although I've posted 6 or so release candidates, I keep catching things like this. I didn't catch this one. Thank you. I'll address it this week. There are still quite a few problems when you import configurations we are working through.

Okay, should be fixed

@jasonUpdated to version SkipApp-0.9.994.10247-RC-x64 tonight and all my configurations were wiped.  Luckily, I had a recent export that I just imported.  Also, the app doesn't remember my remote after I shut it down.  Relaunching the app starts with welcome to Flirc and wants me to plug in my remote, I then get to the main screen and it doesn't recognize my remote as having any activities or devices.

Can you hold space, click the three dots and click 'leave feedback'. Can you post the zip? If you load the old app, do they come back?? But don't try that yet until you grab the zips. I'd like to take a look.

@AgustinRequested support file is attached.  Also, happy to report this hotfix version remembers my remote after shutting upon restart of the app.  I have more than one remote and this version of the app does have some issues when swapping remotes while the app is open.  It used to switch automatically, but now I have to manually select the other remote in Remote Manager.

@AgustinThanks for the quick fix.  Everything seems to working now.  I'm curious though, why has the version numbering gone backwards from 09.994 to these hot fixes which are 09.993?

Artifact of our development cycle. The links have been updated with the fixes supplied to you, but with the RC version. They are identical to your software otherwise.

@Agustin @jason  Running SkipApp-0.9.994.10273-RC-x64 and just noticed that test button no longer works.  It either produces a multi-color (rainbow) flashing ring on the remote.

When you say, you can't add a second remote, what do you mean? Do you have one remote registered? How many remotes are in the remote manager?
