Bug: <3>init_key(496): no off button and red ring if Power button has toggle deactivated.

Featured Replies

Title says it all.

Power button does not work if not set to toggle. "Latest" RC version of the app.

<2>default_handler(165): Power pressed
<3>init_key(496): no off button
<2>default_handler(165): Power released

By the way, giving an easy way to copy out all the version strings would facilitate beta feedback. Either in the logs or the app.

Hi,

I made some tests, and came up with the steps to the error:

  1. Disconnect remote
  2. Clear remote in app
  3. Import the config (I attach the test config again, although it should be the same as before)
  4. Check Power btn for C, it will show both Power up/down assigned.
  5. Connect remote and sync
  6. Delete the Power down action, so it reverts to "toggle off" if you would leave the window, which I do not.
  7. Sync again
  8. Disconnect
  9. Press B (just for good measure)
  10. Press C
  11. Press Power - I get a red ring now, which I assume is an error.

If I export the config and clear the app and reimport the config, both up/down are suddenly assigned again.

Checking a bit more, the exported config does only have one action for the Power button "up" (which I assume is the "Power button as normal button"). But the app will double this for the "down" on its own when imported.

Hi,

Were you able to reproduce the error?

Yes, and no, thank you for your detailed instructions. I can't reproduce this on the version you mentioned, but the new RC candidate I can.

A few questions. When you delete the off, and the Power reverts to Power Toggle, what does the actual window look like. Does it look like this:

Tabs at the bottom

Or this, where there are no "Up / Down" tabs at the bottom.

Because there are two possible issues.

On the current beta and the RC version you mentioned, when you delete the power down button, the power on button reverts to toggle, but should also assign the toggle to the power off tab.

In the new RC version, when this happens, the same effect, power toggle gets assigned and turns the key singular, but the bug here is that you actually can't see the 'off' tab to re-assign the power down method. The only way to do that is to click the three lines and enable the toggle again for re-assignment. Either way, I'll have to fix this in the next update. But if I misunderstood, or if you are stuck somewhere, please let me know.

Hi,

As I mentioned, either I missed where to copy out the exact build, or it needs this for proper feedback.

I'll check the behavior...
