October 7, 20241 yr comment_37647 Hi! Tried the SkipApp-0.9.982.8843-Beta-x64.AppImage for linux. While the remote connects as such, but the record button stays grayed out. Could it be that record is not yet supported? On startup I get the following library complaints. Are there something to worry about here or? Maybe something that might explain why record stays grayed out. $ ~/skip-app_0.9.982+8843_amd64.AppImage /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gvfs/libgvfscommon.so: undefined symbol: g_task_set_static_name Failed to load module: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gio/modules/libgvfsdbus.so /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gvfs/libgvfscommon.so: undefined symbol: g_task_set_static_name Failed to load module: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gio/modules/libgvfsdbus.so /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gvfs/libgvfscommon.so: undefined symbol: g_task_set_static_name Failed to load module: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gio/modules/libgvfsdbus.so /tmp/.mount_skip-awO4cfl/usr/lib/libgnutls.so.30: version `GNUTLS_3_6_13' not found (required by /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcurl-gnutls.so.4) Failed to load module: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gio/modules/libgiolibproxy.so /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gio/modules/libgiognomeproxy.so: undefined symbol: g_task_set_name Failed to load module: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gio/modules/libgiognomeproxy.so /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gvfs/libgvfscommon.so: undefined symbol: g_task_set_static_name Failed to load module: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gio/modules/libgvfsdbus.so WebKit wasn't able to find a WebVTT encoder. It's grayed out because you must be on an old version of firmware or it's old version of the GUI. What version do you have for both? Report
October 7, 20241 yr Author comment_37649 Hi! Here is what I could find: Remote Model: SKIP.1S.RELEASE.A05 Serial Number: 7B0B711B5055344A3525E3120FF17230A Firmware Version: 4.12.6-0-g60dd93b GUI version: The latest I think. Downloaded SkipApp-0.9.982.8843-Beta-x64.AppImage.tar.gz today and have used that version. br, kmm Report

October 10, 20241 yr Author comment_37682 Hi! How do you update the firmware on the remote? Was able to set connect the remote in DFU mode, following some instruction elsewhere on this forum. $ lsusb ... Bus 001 Device 009: ID 20a0:0007 Clay Logic Skip 1s (DFU Mode) Also had to add the following udev rule: SUBSYSTEM=="hidraw", ATTRS{idVendor}=="20a0", ATTRS{idProduct}=="0007", MODE="0666" in order to be able to connect to the remote as a regular user. But what is the next step? Nothing special happens when I start the application as such. The remote shows up in the application. The "Firmware Version" line show "undefined" (or something similar). Could it be that the remote must be updated using some DFU tool? In that case where do we find the firmware to install? br, kmm Report
