RESOLVED - Learning the Telus Optik TV remote

Featured Replies

In Western Canada my cable provider Telus uses the Arris VIP5662W set top box.

The version in the Skip db does not work - the STB does not acknowledge any keypress via blinking its activity LED

There is a very close device that mainly works - Bell Fibe TV.

I learned the remote by designing the key layout (_*SUCH*_ a painful process because of the GUI) and managed to learn the remote's keys (a very well done feature, kudos).

The learned remote shows up as a Brand in "advanced settings" but I do not know how to load it - it does not appear in the Misc or Set Top Box categories.
EDIT: RESOLVED! After a restart of the app it shows up in the STB category. I going to assume user error here.

How can I edit one button on that recorded device? or do I have to repeat the whole process, which took ~1 hour mainly due to the designer's GUI?
EDIT: RESOLVED! Now that the learned device loads, I was able to click "record" which showed that device and its layout. by clicking on a button in the layout I was able to record it following the on-screen instructions.

Thank you very much.

Perhaps get your changes to @jason so he can add them to a future build, so the next person to have a  Arris VIP5662W box doesn't have to go through what you did.
