Activity data lost between app versions

Featured Replies

Hi,

When I was trying to update to the latest software version (via the in-app prompt) I got an error about the software being already installed under a different version. In order to get around this I uninstalled and then reinstalled the new version.

However now when I launch the app I cannot see any of the activities/devices I had set up.

Is there any way to retrieve this data? Is it possible to retrieve it from the remote?

Thanks for your help.

I ran into the same issue. After an update all of my configuration was gone. I don't know what happened and never received support here to figure it out. I'd probably suggest to export the configuration just in-case it happens again.

@jason said to export config BEFORE removing old version, then reload once new version is installed. That worked for me.

That being said, seems strange that the app couldn't just use existing config files if it can find them, when a new version starts up. Having the config embedded as part of the install seems strange to me. Most other apps I use keep configs seperate from the main install, so if the install is removed, the config files remain. Many provide a "do you want to remove the config files as well" option should you wish to really remove everything. Jason, is this doable?
