I can't get my Intel NUC (NUC8i3BEH) with Kodi running on Ubuntu to work with any device config I have tried. Flirc Kodi, Microsoft MCE Group 1 and 2 and some other hail marys. I am currently using an old MCE remote so I know the setup is working correctly.

The problem is that Flirc has put the wrong PRONTO code for the POWER TOGGLE key in its MCE Code Group 1 and Code Group 2 remote profiles.

Fortunately, the fix is really simple!  (It worked for me, at least.)

1. Configure your Skip 1s as though all were well using the Microsoft MCE Code Group 1 or Microsoft MCE Code Group 2 remote along with whatever other remotes you need (I have a TV, sound bar and the Microsoft MCE Code Group 1 in my "A" configuration).
2. Sync your remote.
3. Export the remote control's configuration.
4. Replace the incorrect Power Toggle code with the correct one.
5. Import the modified configuration.
6. Sync your remote.

In the configuration file, using your favourite text editor, search for:

Replace both occurrences (one is the "signal" and one is the "code" in the same definition) with:

I assign the Microsoft POWER TOGGLE to the Power Up sequence so that my NUC turns on with the remote.  I do not use it in my Power Down sequence because I always initiate the shut down of the NUC from the operating system.  How you like to do it may differ, of course, but this is the main attraction of the Skip 1s over my $30 ONE for All remote (the ONE for All has the advantage of giving me direct access to the individual remotes in addition to the "scenes" that I have programmed, but the on and off sequences are the same, and I really want to shut down from the operating system).

edit: Suddenly the MCE Code Group 1 works as expected. I guess I did something correct all of a sudden but I can't say what.

Had you previously tested to see whether or not the IR receiver was actually getting the codes?
