Should not need to reinstall the app. We're working on firmware update bugs in windows literally as I type this. With remote unplugged, remove batteries then replace batteries and plug it in. Then launch Skip App. You should get the option to update firmware. If not, see if you can update the skip app from the menu in the bottom right. If still not, I imagine we'll be pushing out and update specifically for this kind of thing that should help soon.

I just received a new remote this week and am trying to connect it for the first time. I have had no luck with 3 different windows 10 machines. None will recognize the remote when I plug it in and the Skip app does not see the remote. I have tried the steps from this thread with no success. What can I do to make this work?

Turns out I had a bad USB cable. I am able to get the app to recognize the remote now. Should have checked that sooner.
