  1. No remote that I know of has all the keyboard commands but the "Microsoft MCE Keyboard" device available in the harmony app seems to have all the keyboard commands available to assign to any remote button. It allows me to use the remote to execute keyboard commands or combos for shortcuts on a windows PC. I use it for activities involving Kodi or media monkey or anything else on the PC that I have connected to my TV. For example, I put app shortcuts on the task bar and can execute them from a remote as needed or at the start of an activity. I can send the WIN+4 command to open an app then send WIN+5 to run an NirCmd that switches the default audio device. Upon switching activities, I can send an Alt-F4 command to close the app and WIN+6 to switch the default audio device back to what it was. It all dependent on the order of the shortcuts placed on the task bar. When using Kodi with a Flirc USB on a Raspberry Pi, I think I needed to learn the letter 'T' command and the 'delete' command from my harmony remote configured with the "Microsoft MCE Keyboard" device. That way I was able to toggle subtitles with a single button and delete a video file with one button (no need to use the context menu to delete something). That's what I'm hoping to do with the Skip 1s. Other than that, the remote seems to work well and I'm getting used to the button placements. I'm also learning the app (just realized today that I can add delays).
  2. Thanks. Good to have you back. Now I just need to find the Windows MCE Keyboard remote commands. I want it for KODI so I can use the "T" to toggle subtitles and the "delete" key to delete a recorded file with one button. If I can't find those codes, I'll have to wait for learning mode. So far the remote seems good. I'm looking forward to when the A-B-C buttons can execute macros without needing the added press of the power button.
  3. Jason, Just found this thread for adding new devices but I think I'm missing a step. 1) I added the config file to enable admin mode. 2) I can create a comma delimited text file with the naming convention you described. "Brand-Model-Type1#Type2#...#TypeN.txt" and add the codes I need (assuming I find them). 3) Once that file is completed, I would import it using the "add" option in admin mode. What I'm missing is how the .txt file created to import using the admin mode becomes the .json file that you and others are sharing. And if I want to use one of those shared .json files, what folder would I place it in?
  4. I'm able to do some basic things with Kodi using the Skip 1s by adding a PC device and selecting Flirc as the Brand and Kodi as the model. I'd like to be able to do some more advanced things like toggle the subtitles (or teletext). I was able to do this with my Harmony 650 by adding an MCE keyboard so I can assign the letter 'T' to one of the keys. Is there a device I can select from the Skip 1s app that will let me assign keyboard commands like the T or an ALT-F4 etc to buttons on the Skip 1s?
  5. Yes. I already have an IR receiver. It's an HP MCE device connected by USB. It was the one most recommended back in the days of WMC. So under Misc Devices I can add something related to the MCE by selecting Microsoft as the brand. I'll try that. Thanks. With the Harmony 650, I had to use both MCE and WMC devices to access all the IR codes I needed to make everything work. I may need to do the same with the Skip 1s. Like I said in my initial post, I also have a Flirc on a Raspberry Pi with kodi in another room so I'll be able to see how that works with my 2nd Skip. I've played with the basic Roku activity today and it mostly works. I used the middle OK button for pause and play which works, but the actual play pause button acts like a Home button for the Roku. I'll learn more about how to assign buttons. There were times when using the up/down/left/right buttons would just stop responding. I know an IR signal was sent by the remote (I have a sensor that flashes when it detects an IR signal). Then it starts working again after several seconds. The remote seems great so I'm looking forward to when all the kinks are worked out and it replaces my 2 Harmony 650s.
  6. I just got my skip-1 and set up a basic activity for a Roku Ultra connected to an LG TV. I'm sure I'll need to customize it but for now. I'll try it as is. I also want to add an activity for watching Kodi from a Windows PC connected to the LG TV. I see that I can select either "Flirc USB" or "MadVR" under the PC device. How can I add an MCE and WMC device for this activity. I currently use a Harmony 650 for this and my goal is for the Skip-1s to replace the 650. I use a Flirc USB on a Raspberry Pi in a different room (and will set up my 2nd Skip in that room soon). Do I need to buy another Flirc USB for the Windows PC or can I continue to use my HP MCE receiver with the Skip-1s?
