yes, thats right. tried the flicr on two pc's so far, no joy. its doesnt have to be a special remote does it?

Hi, just received new Flirc from Amazon, gen2 I assume. plugged into usb, installed app, drivers installed, app says 'connected' but no matter what remote I try (TV, av amp, 2 different generations of FireTV remote) the app doesnt detect me pressing any buttons so I cant program it. Firmware 4.9.6 and app 3.26.4 How do I get this to work? thanks
