Thanks yawor, using a USB port on the back of my tower works perfectly.

I installed FLIRC, it's detected in Windows and I can assign keys using the GUI but when I press the keys nothing happens, not even in notepad. Is there something else I need to do? I have tried multiple remotes with the same result. This is a Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit machine. Thanks
