Beta Testing

Hi, I cannot seem to get the app to work correctly, in either MacOS Ventura or Sonoma. In both cases, the app opens, but none of the buttons can be read. It's likely not recognizing the remote at all. I can read/program the remote in Windows, just not in MacOS (preferred)

I went to sync my remote after using the updater to upgrade the to the latest 4.12.12 firmware and it prompted me to upgrade the remote. I tried to downgrade to 4.12.11 and then update it from that firmware but no luck. Everytime I get an error has occurred. Everytime this happens the remote gets stuck in DFU mode and I have to manually update the firmware with the updater app to get the remote responsive. If I launch the app again it prompts me to upgrade the remote and the same thing happens everytime. flirc20230611.log

Apologies, I didn't realize I signed up to be a beta tester for this app. I'm returning to trying to get it to be useful for me after a few months break. Some things missing/absolutely broken: -Clone activity is greyed out, would be really useful after spending a weekend trying to get one activity to work as intended, to copy to a new activity -Swap activity letter is greyed out, would be useful if that worked -Lower right options button "Website" "Community" and "Manual" don't do anything -Leave feedback un-focuses after a few seconds -Some devices "power toggle" button assignments disappears after assigning it to a button -Device/Model lists go white af…

Is there a working link to any version of the app? Every link found in the forum, FAQ or getting started points to the product page that contains no software link. There are no links in the beta app threads in the forums, the file attachment links are all broken.

Still having issues saving to OneDrive directories on Windows 11 Pro. App just stops writes nothing to the logs or the file. (I did provide logs about this in a previous release).

This new version supports changing all the LED preferences in the GUI if you have the correct firmware version. You can download that through the forums. Often times we will ask for help with logs. I had my Skip App set for nightly builds, and in the build a night or two ago I could no longer search for devices. I was trying to add an Apple TV. It looked like the interface for device searching had been updated, but when I typed in Apple, nothing would show up. I switched back to 0.9.66 and it was fixed. Could be a known issue, or a hiccup with whatever API or data source you're using, but just thought I'd mention it.

My APPLE FE087LL/A 21.5-inch iMac - Intel Core i5 2.9GH won’t detect the remote. Is it a USB issue? I’m trying a USB-A to USB-C cable, but no success.

Hi there Is it possible to add a function of a device, which is not assigned to a button, to a macro? Situation: In the power section I want to power on a device and then choose the output channel. I didn't succeed, because this function of choosing the output channel is not assigned to a button. Because all buttons have functions for an other device, I can't assign this function to a button.

Hi Thank you for developping the App further. On Apple macOS 12 all shortcuts (cmd-Q …) are grayed out in the menu and don't react. Can you please activate them? Thnak you

I am noticing a difference between the documentation and what I am seeing in the app related to button timing. I noticed that after setting up an Apple TV the play/pause button is not attached to the button by default, if I am correct. It seems the play action is attached. Would be more helpful to have the play/pause action attached to the play/pause button. Just a small suggestion from my end. :)

I have been trying to get admin mode enabled on the skip app but it doesn't seem to be working on windows 11. I have placed the config file you have floating around in multiple disscusions in the specified place %localappdata%\Packages\SkipApp_sddpyax1dmvqm\LocalState\ There is no wrench or panel to access it.

I just started setting up my remote today and I have to say I am very disappointed to find out that learning new actions seems to be entirely absent from the software so far. This is essential functionality for me. I understand that you feel your device database is quite good but given what I'm seeing I don't agree. There are multiple missing actions for my receiver that I'd like to add. I find the generic mappings instead of actual device-specific mappings like Harmony did aren't great but I planned to deal with that by learning whatever buttons were missing and I'd be set. Hi Moving the sliders the values they create, are not shown. This makes it difficult to exactely set the wished value. It would be nice if it would be possible to set the value directly in the value field with the keyboard. I'm not sure, but it seems to me that the repetition of power toggle has only odd numbers. If true, why? Thank you for further developping the App.

Hi there In the buttons panel on the left side there are pictograms for the devices in an action. It would be helpful, if the name of the device would be shown on mouse over this pictograms. So we know, which device we work on.

Hi, I have a BenQ 1080p DLP Gaming Projector TH575 and to power off the unit I need to press Power Off twice. I tried group 1 to 3 with all options possible and I can't get the unit to power On or Off. Anybody have suggestions on how to do this?

Going to ask in its own thread as I think it got lost in an earlier post. The latest beta states this. v0.9.66-beta macOS 10.10+ But when you try to run it, its actually stating it needs 10.15+ to work (10.12 and 10.13 definitely do not work). Ideally like it to work on 10.13, but if not, maybe the minimum requirements is updated on the web to reflect what is needed.

The software on MacOS 13.3 seems unstable. When testing the software and remote syncing, the software often crashes. This mostly happens during sync with the remote after making small changes. The app closes completely. No but report is shown.

Hey. So, received my remote today. I've managed to install the 0.9.6 app and can see that I'm on firmware 4.12.6.0. While I can go through the basic wizard of adding a new activity that's about it. The app often crashes. Had to go through the Add new activity four times before I could actually sync it to the remote as when I was browsing through different brands and models the app often crashed. I think most crashes happened when I had a brand selected, was idling for too long, and then wanted to change the model or brand. Hi, I've noticed two problems with the remote after upgrading to the latest beta (0.9.6 [master]) and firmware (firmware-4.12.10-10-ga6a774d): Colour & "OK" button does not work - nothing is transmitted (confirmed with a Flirc in IR debug mode) The remote only transmits the "power off" sequence never "power on" (confirmed by changing the sequence) The TLDR; I tried a lot of combinations of beta software and firmware and bascially it seems to have been broken between the release of firmware firmware 4.12.6-0-g60dd93b and firmware 4.12.8-0-g7979533. The download page lists a new 0.9.6 beta, but the Windows version requires a login ... and it doesn't like my Windows login. The Mac version downloads without any login. EDIT: I was able to make it work by replacing the DMG download link (https://update.flirc.tv/skipapp/beta/0.9.6/SkipApp-0.9.6-Beta-x64.dmg?token=skipAppUpdate) with the MSIX name (https://update.flirc.tv/skipapp/beta/0.9.6/SkipApp-0.9.6-Beta-x64.msix?token=skipAppUpdate).
