Hi

Macbook air running 10.15.3 using flirc_util 3.25.3 with hardware version 4.9.3.

Trting to use the CLI to install a macro but I cannot get all command to work.  Version and help are fine but when I try to use flirc_util eys I get the response "device disconnected, can't run command" but flirc is connected and recording standard buttons is fine.  Tried removing and reconnecting the usb device but it is the same.

Any command that requires a response from the dongle gives the same response.  Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks Jason, that works!  Will try to record a macro.  I did not notice that instruction in the guide that I read.

Also, I was mislead because the advanced button allow me to select between Record, Long Press and Macro.  What is the purpose of these selcetors?

When I read the manual I am confused and I suspect the manual is not correct?  Here is the hello example.  The first instruction is record but shouldn't the followng ones all be record_macro?  If I follow this instruction I will end up with just "o" won't I? (Or error messages to say the button is already recorded)?

Example 1: "hello"

The following example shows how to use the commandline utility to send the word 'hello' on a single remote control press. To do this, we must first record the letter 'h', then record the remainder as macros on top of 'h'. Below will show the complete working example of this:

bash $ flirc_util record h
Press any button on the remote to link it with 'h'

  Succesfully recorded button

bash $ flirc_util record e
Press any button on the remote to link it with 'e'

  Succesfully recorded button

bash $ flirc_util record l
Press any button on the remote to link it with 'l'

  Succesfully recorded button

bash $ flirc_util record l
Press any button on the remote to link it with 'l'

  Succesfully recorded button

bash $ flirc_util record o
Press any button on the remote to link it with 'o'

  Succesfully recorded button

Not a linux user but in Windows CMD do you replace bash $ flirc_until with flirc_until.exe?

I'm currently having issues with my Flirc's excepting commands for Kodi and I thought I'd try command line.

Thus far I've only done flirc_util.exe settings to see what the current settings are. They are as follows:

3.25.3
FW Version: v4.9.3
   SKU:     Flirc 2.0 [dori]
   Branch:  master
   Config:  release
   Hash:    0xCB185BDE

  sleep detection:  always enabled
  noise canceler:   always enabled
inter-key delay:  N/A for current firmware
  variant:          Flirc

  product sku:      Flirc 2.0 [dori]
	Recorded Keys:
