brenster21
So I am posting here since I don't really know where else to post. I am looking for a way to have my raspberry turn my old tcl tv on via IR commands. I heard a rumor that FLIRC has the ability to send commands on reddit, and would like to clarify this before I order one. My tv for lack of better words is a dumb TV, it does not support cec, auto power on when it gets power, wake on lan, ect. Ideally, I would like to program the pi to send a command to turn the tv on/off upon waking or going to sleep. I am not exactly interested in using a tv remote, and would much rather just use my cellphone to control this.
torq1337
Hey mate. First of all, you need to check which Flirc you have. Plastic or metal one? If you have the metal one, your wishes will come true :) This is the Blog post you will be intrested in: http://blog.flirc.tv/index.php/2017/08/06/sdk-release-linux-rpi-ir-transmit-support/ Great explained by Jason what you need to do to make it work ;) Best Regards
