Keypresses not working

Recommended Posts

I set up by new Flirc today to use a Pioneer DVD remote with Kodi on a Raspberry Pi, including updating the firmware.

It did not work; I tried it on a PC and all keypresses seemed to come through as a lower case i.

This is the debug. Any ideas?

It's for a Pioneer DV-410V.

I tried it with a Pioneer Bluray remote too and it was unreliable with that too.  Possibly related - both gave a lot of 'button already exists' errors when programming.

I tried a popcorn hour remote and that seems to work a lot better.

Ok, I've configured my universal remote for that DVD player and I know what's going on. The remote actually sends two frames (sets of signals) on a single button press. The issue is that the first frame is always the same and only the second one differs depending on the button. When recording, Flirc sees the first frame and records it. When you record next button, Flirc sees the same first frame again and reports an error because it already has it recorded in the memory. Probably the second one, for Bluray, uses the same schema.

I'm sorry to disappoint you but there's nothing I can do for you at the moment to make these remotes work for you. It's hard to add support for control schemes like that and this takes a lot of time and testing.

I've got a similar problem with a Pioneer Remote AXD7745 (luckily for some buttons only) - after i recorded the first of the "bad" buttons, it wont let record the second one

Just want to inquire if a solution or workaround came up in the last two years?

I've re-written all my IR stack, and I'm going to post an update in the next few weeks. I'll try and grab one of these remotes to ensure everything works correctly.

Hi, I am having a similar issue with the XIAOMI Infrared Eleven Key Minimalist Remote. I bought one of this https://www.banggood.com/XIAOMI-Infrared-Eleven-Key-Minimalist-Remote-Controller-Air-Mouse-p-1435509.html?ID=224&cur_warehouse=CN to control Kodi on my RPi4 but seems that, even if the Flirc USB is advertised to work with any remote, in practice this is not possible. Flirc is seeing multiple buttons as sending the same signal so I can program only 5 out of 11 keys, the rest are doing the same job. Thanks.

Hey!

just wondering if you did find the time to update the software so that the issue here has been resolved?

It's written, I haven't had time to finalize it. This virus really messed up schedule. Our new case is behind schedule, my supply chain is constrained, and everyone is staying home so I spend a majority of my time fulfilling orders. I should be done with this project I'm working on next week and will get back to firmware.

I have a similar problem. Except that with me it was working fine with a Vizio remote.

Then 2 weeks later it just stop working. I can connect and use the GUI to record the keys but if I open the Debug Log I get this message:

    <3>ir_finished(63): too many edges

I tried with other remotes but still not working

I updated to bootloader and the firmware to v4.9.3 but still the same problem.

I got it from Amazon on March 30th. Is there any support or warranty here? Its been with me for 40 days only

Thanks
