dabl
Is anybody using a 2017 16 GB Shield with a FLIRC IR receiver along side a Windows Media Center PC with a traditional IR receiver?Do the two play nicely together?I'd like to run this combination and control both with a Harmony One IR based remote but am wondering if this might pose a problem and/or if either the Shield or the Windows Media Center PC might respond in unpredictable ways? yawor
Unless you program your Flirc to recognise MCE remote there's no problem at all. You should create separate profiles on your Harmony remote for both devices.
dabl
Thanks very much for your reply. To be more specific, I am planning to follow the attached recipe. Please let me know if you see any issues with this.By 'profile' do you mean device or activity? Thanks for your help!Flirc Setup - Harmony & Nvidia Shield.pdf Edited February 1, 2017 by dabl
yawor
You should have separate device profile for each device you want to control. You should add an MCE device profile to control your Windows Media Center PC and some other device profile (different than MCE and different than any hardware you have at home) you'll pair with your Flirc using Flirc GUI.I don't use Harmony myself, but from what I know, you can then create activities where you can mix keys from multiple profiles together.
