  1. Hi there all, Situation: I have 2 remotes: a Vizio TV remote to control my 48" Vizio TV & a Bose Universal Remote to control my Bose Solo 5 TV Soundbar. Links: Vizio TV Remote: https://www.amazon.com/XRT136-Control-D24F-F1-D43F-F1-E55U-D0/dp/B0788PN3VS/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=vizio+tv+remote&qid=1589818642&s=electronics&sr=1-5 Bose Remote: https://www.amazon.com/Bose-Soundbar-System-Universal-Control/dp/B01AWLPUAG/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=sound+system+tv&qid=1588620674&sr=8-3 Need: I want to be able to press the Power button and the Bluetooth button from the Bose remote control and program it to the Vizio TV Remote Control using Flirc. This way, I don't have to use 2 remotes (1 to control my TV, and the other to just power up my Bose soundbar). Trials: I have tried looking at these 2 forum pages: http://forum.flirc.tv/index.php?/topic/542-cant-get-remote-to-work-someone-please-help/&tab=comments#comment-3716 http://forum.flirc.tv/index.php?/topic/3019-ir-sending-to-a-bose-v30/&tab=comments#comment-15925 but they don't seem to help. I've tried to also program the basic mute, power, volume up, volume down buttons using flirc on my Vizio Remote and then plugging the Flirc USB into the Bose Solo TV Soundbar, but nothing happens. Please help! Using the big chunky Bose Remote is driving me nuts just to turn it on!
  2. Hello all Finally got onto this forum. Have been reading tons of stuff but being a novice I need help understanding your lingo and directions. Specifically- Harmony 650 with Fire Tv and Flirc Dongle in USB port on Fire TV. I know several of you have this worked out....pleas help me do this. Thanks Bob.
  3. Hi, I checked the forums, but didn't really find a topic with my problem, so I try to ask: I have a first generation flirc and I use that without any problems for years. But I decided to get a new one, mostly becouse I have a frequent error in my mediapc/kodi that maybe becouse the old flirc reciever i got already used years back, but mostly becouse the new one is more up-to-date and let's face it, smaller, nicer and fits more to the mediapc than the old. I got the new one, but after setting up (install software, program the keys to my remote) it didn't work at all. The windows and the Flirc cliens sees the device, when I set up a key, it says it was programmed. But when I want to actually use the remote (even just to see the keystrokes it supposed to do) nothing. I cleared the settings, to start from scrach, set up all the keys. Now some works some not. Even the keys that does work, are unreliable. Sometimes I press the button and ok, next time its nothing for a minute (arrow keys for example, up - up - nothing for long seconds - up). The flirc client for programming the remote keys, sometime says that a key is already stored do I want to redo? But most of the time nothing, just store it like it was empthy. Plugging back the old flirc, works great, repsonsive, quick. Did I miss something with the setup? Can I check somehow what keys it stored? (the remote is a logitech harmony 350 and I did see that the harmony remotes have problems, but this is the most basic version, technically just an universal remote, and as I wrote, my old, first gen flirc works with it perfectly.) If anyone have any idea, I'd appreciate it, thanks.
  4. I'm setting up a Kodi/xmbc box, using a raspberry pi3. I installed OSMC on the pi. I "installed" flirc by copying the supplied config file into where it said in /etc. The flirc seems to do the minimum stuff with kodi; the up, down, left, right, enter, and exit buttons work. OSMC uses a stripped down minimal flavor of linux so I'm guessing it doesn't have x windows. The user guide, "How to set up Flirc", confused me since I don't have any way to run the setup program on my pi. But it finally occurred to me that perhaps I can program the flirc by plugging it into my windows box and run the flirc setup program there and that all of the programming of the flirc is stored on the flirc? Is that true? In any event the web site and instructions are lacking. If it's true that I can use my windows box to program it they ought to explain this part and how you can use another computer to do the programming.
  5. I just purchased flirc off of amazon. I'm trying to set it up for the first time. I'm trying to use a comcast remote with my HTPC, but everytime I go to program more than one button, the program gives me "button already exists". I have tried 3 different comcast remotes, and each one does the same thing. I can set it up with my Panasonic TV remote, but i need the comcast one to work since it also controls my surround sound system. With the comcast remote, it seems to act as if every key press is the same button. Is there a fix for this? GUI version 1.2.6 firmware version 2.6 dark silver comcast remote This was also happening before I forced the firmware update.
  6. Hello. I bought 2 FLIRCs and popped one into my Kodi box and installed the software. When programming the keys the FLIRC software works fine, but then when I'm done, it has no effect on Kodi or the operating system. Please advise.
  7. Hi everybody, I'm trying to setup Flirc on my Raspberry Pi using ArchLinux (RuneAudio) but I'm not familiar with ArchLinux and instructions are only for debian based system. I already tried a couple of things and searched on Google with no success. Can anyone help me to setup Flirc on ArchLinux? Thanks in advance.
  8. Hi, I use the popular video program VLC. In VLC the key combo for toggling into full-screen mode is Alt-V + F. The Flirc setup app does not want to accept this key combo. Is there any way do this and use only one remote button? I'm a programmer, so you don't need to be gentle. (PS. Of course my interest is not only in this particular combination, but in the thousands of different combinations that Windows apps use.)
  9. As the title states, I am unable to record any button presses via the GUI. I have tried multiple USB ports on two different computers (one PC, and one Mac), and more than one remote control. In all cases, the UI says to "press the button to be paired", and no matter what I press, nothing registers. I assume the Flirc itself is faulty, but I'm hoping there's something simple I'm missing. The device is recognized fine by both machines, and has the drivers installed and identifying the device properly. I also cleared the configuration and forced the installation of the latest firmware (which was already on the Flirc). Windows 10 Ent., and OS X El Capitan are the OSes I'm trying with. Thanks in advance for any ideas.
  10. I am trying to program my Flirc to work with my comcast remote. It will let me sucessfully program one button, but when I go on to the next one and I get button already exists. After I stop it and see what buttons it took, all the buttons light up with the up button. meaning: I press "1", "up" lights up.... I press "ok", " u"p lights up.... I press "down, "up" lights up. If I use any other remote to program it, it will work fine. Is there a know issue with Comcast remotes? I even went as far as to unlock the remote and try programming it with the tv function on the remote. that worked . it just won't work with the cable function on the remote. is it just not compatible?
  11. I'm trying to use my rf harmony hub to control my raspberry pi which has the flirc plugged in. How do I do this
