  1. Hello! What's the manufacturer/device used to get the full keyboard profile on a harmony ultimate remote? I've done Flirc/Kodi, but that aligns to the Kodi profile (that doesn't seem to work with play/pause). I've tried various forms of Flirc/Keyboard etc. Thanks.
  2. Kodi+Desktop simultaneously

hi, I have a linux system (opensuse) with 2 video outputs. One per hdmi to a LG TV of 50 "where almost always only kodi is displayed and another output to a 22" monitor that is the one that I use with opensuse daily. I have Flirc gen1, the one that comes in the Streacom box. Flirc is programmed with the keyboard commands that kodi uses, but if I want to use kodi and any other application of opensuse, for example surfing the network, it becomes a little complicated. For example, if I'm browsing with Firefox over the network, firefox has the focus, and if my child is with the remote and gives the arrow up, firefox goes up and kodi does not know. My son asks, what happens, does kodi ignore? So, I programmed a button on the remote so that when I clicked, kodi would receive the focus, but I do not think it would solve the problem ... There has to be some way that the keyboard that simulates Flirc only had an effect on Kodi, but I can not get it. It had occurred to me that in Kodi I could use a keyboard.xml and map the specific Flirc entries, but I can not do it. If I could add a prefix to the Flirc button, I could map the prefix + button to a kodi command ... but I do not know how to do it Can someone help me please? Thanks in advance
  3. Hi there, I got a Flirc IR universal receiver I want to use with Kodi. I first plugged it in a Mac running Flirc's GUI, programmed a few basic buttons (directional arrows, back) from a disused IR remote control. Kodi runs from LibreELEC on a Raspberry Pi 3. When I plug the Flirc IR receiver into the Raspberry Pi 3, nothing happens as I press the buttons on the remote control. Rebooted, same absence of result. What could be happening there?
  4. My setup is an Amazon firetv with a flirc and a Harmony 655 remote that have worked fine together. Recently I wanted to add a FLIRC to my HTPC with the same remote. In Harmony software I have two devices (FLIRC firetv and FLIRC kodi- they both show as flirc media player). The problem is both the HTPC and the FireTV are picking up the same commands. Which is wreaking havok on whichever device isn't currently active. Any ideas?
  5. Hi all, I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure out whats going on so figured id sign up and ask! Been a Flirc user for over 2 years and legit 2 days ago it simply stopped controlling my Kodi setup (Windows 10 PC) using Logitech Harmony. I can see its still active in Device Manager and tried uninstalling software/driver + reinstall. Tried removing the Device from Logitech Harmony and re-adding. Changed USB ports .... almost everything under the sun I can think of but my remote simply cant control my PC (kodi) any more. I have tried re-mapping the buttons with the Flirc windows software but it just wont read the input strokes from the remote. Unsure where the issue lies, whether its Windows, Flirc, Logitech, Kodi but I have basically tried to address each one to no avail. Does anyone have any idea what else I can try? Happy to send logs or whatever else required. Thanks heaps in advance for any insight!
  6. Hi, I'm trying to set up flirc that I just bought with my LG smart remote to be able to control kodi on an android box. I keep getting button already exists, and I did the following to trouble shoot, but none helped: 1. Avoided interference, all electronics and lights were off except for a laptop with windows 10 that I was using to install flirc 2. Reinstalled app 3. tried to minimalist and Kodi remotes, none of them worked 4. Disabled reconfigured profiles in the advanced setting as one suggested so far none worked. Any suggestions?
  7. Hi, I just received my Flirc to go with the Nvidia Shield and I'm having some configuration challenges with my Harmony 350 remote. I followed the Harmony setup guide for Flirc and I'm using the "Flirc Media Player" profile. I noticed that there are several native Kodi controls that are missing that are mapped to keyboard shortcuts. The main ones that are missing for me are the Live TV controls such as EPG or channels, page up and down, etc. I tried using the keyboard profile but Flirc isn't recognizing all of the Harmony button presses - I imagine this is why the Harmony profile was created. Here's a list of the full set of Kodi controls available through a keyboard shortcut: http://kodi.wiki/view/Keyboard_controls Does anyone know how to map the buttons that aren't in the Harmony profile? Thanks
  8. Hello, I been trying to get something/anything Flirc (V2) to work either wake or sleep my Windows 7 HTPC using the Harmony Hub with remote 915-000194 but maybe i'm not understanding how to set this up along with the hub. I downloaded the software Flirc Windows GUI Software v3.1.0 installed it and it updated to firmware v4.2.2. Can some explain the process past here for the new software and the hub? Like do I close the software or minimize it because I dont think it runs in the background ect. After I get it working I woundnt mind writing an updated version of how to.... Thanks,
  9. I bought FLIRC specifically to use with Kodi on a new iMac without an IR receiver. (There is a picture of this remote on the website, so it seemed reasonable to expect it to work.) But there is no controller map for this remote, and it seems impossible to duplicate the behaviour of the original so that, e.g., the up arrows work for navigation, but also change volume while a file is playing. Have i wasted my money?
  10. Error message in log

Hi, I have had a Flirc Gen.1 plastic model for a number of years in an older media PC. That unit had died and I have just setup a ZOTAC Windows 7 Pro PC. I also use a Harmony One remote and added a Flirc device in Kodi flavor. After downloading the current software from your site, I could program keys - but I cannot use the Harmony to operate Kodi (or even use the number-keys within a .txt file). The log reads: Error: unsupported device must have flirc gen 2 enabled device and fw >= 4.1.0 I did google this and ended up with messages based on the same symptoms but with no real solution. There is also mention of some "Zadic" software with no reference on how to use it or whether this did actually help anyone. Is this gen 1 dongle obsolete? Do I need different software, firmware, etc.? Thanx in advance for your help. Cheers, Volker
  11. I don't know if this is a kodi issue or a Flirc issue, but I will try here first. Last night my Pi3 with kodi (openelec) froze, where I had to do a hard reboot. After that my Harmony Ultimate would not work properly. Kodi no longer responded to the direction keys or the select key. It would back a noise if I pushed the Back button, and would respond to the Page Up and Page down buttons on the screens. I downloaded the updated Flirc app and updated the firmware, re-programmed the direction and select buttons, and returned the Flirc to the Pi 3, but the problem still persists. Is there anything else I can do, or is this a Kodi issue?
  12. Limit data usage on stop

I need an easy way to exit Kodi automatically while switching off the TV. Family members switch off the TV with the remote but forget to exit Kodi. This eats up my daily GB allowance whic would normally be sufficient (but not for a full night fetching data!). Ideally the shutoff button of my TV should exit the Kodi on the Raspberry Pi app. But in the Flirc setup I can't find a way to map that (only the arrow, select etc as in the minimalist controller). My remote is a Samsung BN59-00684B. I though of other options, such as setting the sleep timer in Kodi or using a standby killer (disconnects power from TV and RP upon standby, this requires reboot of RP at start), but tehes are not so elegant. Is there a profile of my Samsung remote that I can load in the Flirc and whose buttons I can assign dedicated Kodi commands?
  13. Hi all, For some reason, I use the full keyboard controller to program my remote controller and I want to control the volume of kodi. Which character should I map to my remote controller button to be able to increase and decrease the volume in Kodi ? Thank you in advance
  14. Flirc with Apple TV Remote Gen 2

Hi all, I want to use my Apple TV Remote Gen 2 to control Kodi in my raspberry pi. How to program my flirc usb v2 to be able to control volume(Up/Down), make Play/pause and contextual menu using this apple TV remote ? Thank you in advanced
  15. Hi,I would like to wake up my HTPC when it is suspended with Flirc (1st gen with the transparent casing) using my Logitech Harmony Companion.I am using a win7 pc with the latest version of Flirc GUI (ver 2.6.4) and the motherboard that am using is a ASRock FM2A85X-ITX.I try every possible option i can find on the internet but nothing worked. First of all i enabled 'PS/2 Keyboard power On', 'USB Keyboard/Remote Power On', USB Mouse Poer On' in my BIOS. So basically i have power on my USB ports and by pressing any key on my Logitech K400 Keyboard i can wake up my HTPC when it is suspended. But still i can't wake it up using my Remote. I ran the cmd 'powercfg -devicequery wake_armed' in win cmd i see a list of all the devices that can power on my PC but no Flirc i even try to include it but with no luck. I also try to check the option 'Allow this device to wake the computer' under Power Management in Device Manager for my USB ports but i can't the option appears to be ghost. In Flirc GUI i use the option 'Wake/suspend' under Controllers>Media Keys.Plz help me i really would to be able to wake up my HTPC using Logitech Harmony Activity.
  16. FLIRC USB Firmware v4.1.1. Remote is an Acoustic Research ARRS05G. Using the Kodi profile. OS is Ubuntu LTS 16.04: matt@host:~$ cat /etc/os-release NAME="Ubuntu" VERSION="16.04.2 LTS (Xenial Xerus)" ID=ubuntu ID_LIKE=debian PRETTY_NAME="Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS" VERSION_ID="16.04" HOME_URL="http://www.ubuntu.com/" SUPPORT_URL="http://help.ubuntu.com/" BUG_REPORT_URL="http://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/" VERSION_CODENAME=xenial UBUNTU_CODENAME=xenial matt@host:~$ cat /etc/debian_version stretch/sid Whenever I press a button on the remote, I'd say there's maybe a 20% chance it is recognized. In other words, it seems most button presses are ignored. This is with the FLIRC USB device plugged into the front of the PC, and me standing right in front of it, with the remote only a few inches away. Using a (wired) USB keyboard, all button presses work immediately as expected. I'm using Flirc v2.5.1, from Deb package flirc_2.5.1-1_amd64.deb (md5sum: 4ac86479eae26df57a676e9674bb699e). 17. I use Kodi 17.3 on a Pi2 with FLIRC2. I setup FLRIC with your software and used the KODI keymap for this. I used each button there. But I don't think the map is correct. I check with my editor on the PC what key's does FLIRC produce on some buttons. e.g. power button is 'ä' (in KODIS default keymaping it is 'S') volume down is 'ß' (in KODIS default keymaping it is '-') volume up is '´' (in KODIS default keymaping it is '+') This are just three of the buttons not working in my KODI. Maybe I missunderstand something. Can you help me with that? I know I could use the full-keyboard-mapping of the FLIRC software to fix this. But the KODI-mapping should work, too.
  18. Hey all, i am hoping you can help me with something. I recently had to reset my Win 10 HTPC and since then when I am in KODI using my Harmony 650 the play & pause button no longer work. I have to use the center "Select" or "OK" button on my remote to bring up the menu at the bottom of the video where I can play/plause by hitting "OK" again on my remote. Anyone have any advice why the play/pause would stop working? I am on the most recent stable build of KODI, have the most recent firmware for FLIRC and have tried re-syncing my remote with the harmony software using the XBMC profile in the harmony software. Also I have tried mapping the play/pause key in the FLIRC software to the play/pause buttons but it says that they already exist so I am at a loss as to what to try now. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks
  19. Hi There, As a Belgian guy I'm using subtitles and often look for dutch audio when starting a animation movie for children.. In the userdata/keymaps/keyboard.xml I have following <FullscreenVideo> <keyboard> .... <d>ActivateWindow(subtitlesearch)</d> <d mod="longpress">Subtitledelay</d> <e>ActivateWindow(osdaudiosettings)</e> <e mod="longpress">NextSubtitle</e> .... </Fullscreen> The Kodi Controller lacks some extra buttons, is there a way to add some extra Is there a way to get a readable mapping xml ( so I know what I have done) . Kind Regards Guy
  20. FLIRC Issues

I have the Flirc Streacom edition plugged into my media server. Was updating a few things today, small SSD drive and decided to give Ubuntu a try, but, nothing seemed to work... uninstalling LibreOffice fails, updates wouldn't work, couldn't get the Flirc install to work either. Never used Ubuntu/Linux before, but I know how to follow directions... just odd errors and such. Finally gave up, and tried OpenEllec instead. Installed, booted into KODI, no problem, but couldn't figure out how to get to the OS to install Flirc. Figured, if what I read was true, I could just hook up the old drive, boot into Win7x64, install and setup Flirc with that, because from what I read, the chip on the Flirc itself saves the keypress info. But, I'm still having issues. I'm still in Win7. Until it's working perfect with Kodi I don't want to swap the drives around. I setup the remote using Kodi under controllers, and surprised at how many keys that I use daily are missing. I guess I'll have to use full keyboard and in Kodi remap the key functions from there? Main 2 issues though are 1) Every other time I go into Kodi, one or two buttons don't work. I go back to the Flirc setup screen, and most buttons say 'button already exists' but always one or two that aren't setup even though I had them setup and working. It seems that after a restart, or just over time I'm not certain, the Flirc forgets a few buttons. Since not a USB Flirc, I can't fix that easily once I switch drives around if it forgets again. 2) Power off/on doesn't work. I mapped the PWR button on my remote (Sony RM-VZ320) and saved... but when I click the button while the system is on, I get a Windows 'ding' noise. When the system is powered off, there is a (very) bright blue LED on the board that remains on, so getting power, but when I click PWR, nothing happens at all. Case PWR button works fine. Any ideas? I need to get the power on/off working, and make sure that once programmed, Flirc doesn't keep forgetting random buttons.
  21. Philips DVD player remote

I'm trying to use a Philips DVD player remote. First, recording buttons failed often, but by repeating the procedure I finally managed to record all buttons. I read this means the frequency is non-standard? Second, when using it the keypresses pretty much give random results. I. e. pressing arrow down moves left instead, so on. I'm ready to buy an another remote, can anybody point me to a remote on eBay that works?
  22. First, I want to say, I have covered the issue of no power to the flirc to be able to boot... I have a media pi+ case (http://sb-components.co.uk/mediapi.html or https://www.amazon.com/Limited-Raspberry-MEDIAPI-integrated-Remote/dp/B00SEGYY7C) I am not using the onboard IR that came with it, as there's no power to it when the raspberry pi shutsdown. So I bought a flirc SE, and I have a couple adapter cables plugged in that allowed me to have the flirc se powered off of the incoming power, and it also splits to power raspbery pi (internal usb cable that came with FLIRC SE going to adapter cable that gives me standard usb plug, going into female usb plug that splits into 1 male, 1 female micro usb) so I have power going to everything, My question is, how do I set the IR remote to "boot" or wake from sleep or wake from hibernate? also, I am assuming I will need to connect one of the power switch pin pairs up to the raspberry pi for the actual boot command to work, Can I connect it to the run pin holes as that does a reset? sorry for the rather noobish question, I am trying to teach myself this stuff as much as possible, I have searched first, and did not see anything that covered this, so if it is covered elsewhere, could you please direct me to it? thanks in advance for any information or guidance anyone is able to give.
  23. Hi I'm using a FTV with Flirc, a Harmony and Kodi. I'm trying to get it setup so that the controls in Kodi match the controls in Fire TV. At present the directions and Enter work but none of the others like fast forward do. If I had the keyboard shortcuts used by the Fire TV for ff/rw/back/playpause/menu I could modify the keyboard.xml in kodi to use those keys for the same functions and then set flirc to them.
  24. Prior to installing Kodi, FireTV must enable developer section stuff. One of the options is USB Debugging mode, not required, but you may inadvertently turned it ON. You need to turn that OFF for Flicr to work with the FIreTV. This was a bone head mistake I did that took me a moment or two to figure out. Once that is disabled, viola!
  25. Want to set up Nvidia Shield running Kodi with a Harmony 900. I set this up with the Harmony software. Checking the 'customize buttons' option after I see presets for the Shield as well as my receiver for volume. Don't see a single thing for the Flirc even though it says here https://flirc.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/200712568-Logitech-Harmony-Remotes that "You should be good to go - you don't need to program buttons using the Flirc gui, we've done that for you." Even after setting commands in the customize buttons on the Harmony software and I plug the Flirc in my Shield it does nothing. Nothing is programmed. If I run the Flirc software and try to manually program buttons pressing a button on my Harmony does nothing. I tried other 'IR' remotes and it worked. Is this because the Harmony is an RF remote? If so how am I supposed to program it? Why wasn't it programmed automatically? All software for Harmony and Flirc is up to date? Can someone help me out with a step by step? This should have been an effortless install but I've already wasted at least an hour. Thanks.
